"Hey, who turned out the lights? Hey, who turned out the lights?" River uses the squareness gun on the wall.
"This way, quickly. Move!" River shouts.
"Hey, who turned out the lights?" The large moon is hanging high in the orange sky. River cuts a square in the wall with her gun and enters.
"Ok, we've got a clear spot. In, in, in! Right in the centre. In the middle of the light, quickly. Don't let your shadows cross. Doctor, Seer."
"We're doing it" the Doctor says.
"There's no lights here. Sunset's coming. We can't stay long. Have you found a live one?"
"Maybe. It's getting harder to tell. What's wrong with you?" I say smacking my screwdriver against my palm.
"We're going to need a chicken leg. Who's got a chicken leg? Thanks, Dave" I throw the meat into the shadow, and once again it is just bone before it hits the ground "ok. Ok, we've got a hot one. Watch your feet."
"They won't attack until there's enough of them. But they've got our scent now. They're coming" the Doctor says.
"Oh, yeah, who are they? You haven't even told us. You just expect us to trust them?" other Dave says.
"He's the Doctor, she's the Seer and their married" River says.
"And who is the Doctor and the Seer?" Lux asks.
"The only story you'll ever tell, if you survive them" River says.
"You say they're your friends, but they don't even know who you are."
"Listen, all you need to know is this. I'd trust those two to the end of the universe. And actually, we've been."
"They don't act like they trust you."
"Yeah, there's a tiny problem. They haven't met me yet" she goes over to where the Doctor and I are still scanning shadows.
"What's wrong with it?" River asks looking at me.
"There's a signal coming from somewhere, interfering with it."
"Then use the red settings."
"It doesn't have a red setting" the Doctor says.
"Well, use the dampers."
"It doesn't have dampers."
"It will do one day" I take River's sonic screwdriver.
"So, sometime in the future, I just give you my screwdriver" I ask.
"Yeah."
"Why would I do that?"
"I didn't pluck it from your cold dead hands, if that's what you're worried about" River says.
"And I know that because?"
"Listen to me. You've both lost your friend. You're angry. I understand. But you need to be less emotional, Seer, right now."
"Less emotional? I'm not emotional" I say crossing my arms.
"There are five people in this room still alive. Focus on that. Dear God, your hard work young" River says.
"Young? Who are you?"
"Oh, for heaven's sake! Look at the pair of you. We're all going to die right here, and you're just squabbling like an old married couple" Lux says gesturing between River and me.
"Seer, one day I'm going to be someone that you and the Doctor trust completely, but I can't wait for you to find that out. So, I'm going to prove it to you. And I'm sorry. I'm really very sorry" River whispers in my ear, and I look stunned, River pulls away "are we good? Seer, are we good?" I open and close my mouth, the Doctor looks at me.
