Just Friends

Chapter 1

Alex (or Alexander) Da Silva and Alexa (or Alexandra) Comette where born one week apart. Their families were really close and they hung out and always had dinner together on Wednesday nights. They had also been at the Da Silva's beach house for countless of vacations. Now, eighteen years later, Alex and Alexa were still the best of friend.

Alex Da Silva had dark hair and dark blue eyes. He was tan, tall and hugely built. His two younger siblings Danny and Ricky were thirteen years old. 

Alexa Comette had dark curls and brown eyes. She was way to pale for her own liking. She had a twenty three year old sister named Willow, who was the definition of beautiful.

"5, 6, 7, 8 and go!" the captain of the dance team, Lottie shouted over the music and everyone began doing the choreography. The did a run-through in preparation for the big upcoming competition in just a few weeks. Lottie was drilling them extra hard now that the competition was just around the corner. Alexa looked around as she danced. They entire team looked really good and synchronized.

When they were finished Lottie gave them a water break. Alexa threw her curly hair into a messy bun with a few loose strands. Her friend Lilly approached her and wanted to go through one of the combinations and Alexa was happy to help.   

"We'll meet up after school tomorrow as well and to practice. Good job today girls." Lottie applauded so did everyone as they walked over to gather their things.  Alexa put on her shoes and grabbed her bag and said goodbye to Lottie, Lilly and a few others. She left the dance studio and entered the halls. 

By the main entrance she spotted Alex. Her best friend. He was talking to some of his soccer team mates. He smiled as he saw her and she smiled back. 

"You stink." he joked when she got close enough. 

She studied his damp hair. "So do you." she lied.

"Na-ah. I showered." Alex said as a matter of fact. 

"Well you must've missed a spot then" Alexa smiled sweetly and hit Alex lightly as she brushed past him. She could hear Alex's team mates Liam and Cole chuckle behind her as she walked out to the parking lot. She walked in the direction of Alex's car and waited for him to unlock it. She rolled her eyes when he waited until he had reached the car with unlocking it. Alex smirked at her and he even chuckled when she closed the door harder than needed. 

She got her phone from her bag and connected it to his car and pressed play on her favorite playlist.

"This again?" Alex complained, but Alexa knew that he didn't mind, that he actually liked her music. They drove in the direction of Alexa's house and sang along to the One Direction song playing. Alex parked the car in the driveway, which meant that he planned on following her inside. They greeted Alexa's mum and continued to Alexa's room. Alex waited patiently in her room while she showered. 

When she returned back to her room Alex had already opened up her computer and when she joined him, he pressed play on the Netflix show they were currently watching together. Soon they were both asleep on Alexa's bed. 

Alexa's mum woke them up telling them that dinner was ready. Alex said that he had to go back to his house, and left soon after. 

After dinner Alexa went back to her room. She called her sister Willow and talked to her for a while. Willow was currently at college and dating one of the young professors (he wasn't her professor though, luckily). Only Alexa knew about Willow's romance and she was sworn to secrecy. Willow asked Alexa about her love life, but there was nothing new to report on that department, as usual.

Willow had a date to get ready for and Alexa was about to go to sleep, so they hung up and Alexa walked over to her bathroom to prepare for bed. Her phone buzzed with a new text.

Alex: Pick you up tomorrow?

She replied right away.

Alexa: Duuh.

Alex's reply didn't take long.

Alex: Not that tone to me miss Comette. You really need to learn to be nicer

Alexa: I am nice

Alex: Not to me :(

Alexa: Only because you know me. What do you want me to do?

It took a while before Alex replied. Alexa took that time to finish brushing her teeth and wash her face. When she was finished a new text was waiting for her.

Alex: A please would be nice

She rolled her eyes as she typed.

Alexa: Ask me again then...

Alex: Pick you up tomorrow? :)

Alexa: Yes please...

Alex: Will be there at the usual time

Alexa turned her phone off and decided to read a chapter in the book she was currently reading before she turned her light out for the day.
