Title says it all, despite not really doing the shipping things my brain decided to give me an idea I'm comfortable writing so why not?

Uhhhhh how do I do this-
Scar x Grian, Scar x Cub (briefly mentioned) ?
Set in season 7 with references to before seasons 7

Man I can't believe I'm doing this XD please don't do anything crazy, on either side of what that could mean, if you don't like this then don't read, and after I'll be back to regularly scheduled sporadicly-posted platonic stuff because this is the single shippy idea I've had and I've been in this fandom for 2 years now LOL

Actual title: "Midnight Confessions"

————————

It was the small hours of the night and Grian was wandering the jungle.

It was a common thing for him to do. He was a night owl, and somewhat of a morning person- he just in general had a lot of energy. It was fairly often that he found himself unable to sleep, so everyone knew that it wasn't impossible to find himself wandering the server at night. Last season it meant chaos for his friends and neighbors since it meant Grian could strike pranks without getting caught, but this season it's just been mindless exploration. A nice change of pace.

Grian came around the bamboo-wooded hill to Scar's area. It had quickly become his favorite place on the server, both during the day and especially at night, for a couple reasons, but no one knew it and he kind of preferred it that way. He liked having a few secrets for himself.

It seems that Scar's magic had bled more than the wizard realized. Everywhere around his build sites seemed to sparkle and dots of color of crystals not unlike the ones he was selling could be seen in plants and the earth and the water in the darkness. There was enough light from all this, and the scattered torches, that the night here was not pitch black like the rest of the jungle, but a gentle golden speckled with wonderful blues and pinks.

While Grian doubted the actual magical-ness of Scar's crystals, he had no doubt that the wizard and his presence was beautiful.

He smiled and basked in the comforting, ethereal feeling of the enchanted air and spun in a gentle twirl. The water reflecting the moonlight lapped at the beach and shining yellow wheat at its shore and in the distance the sound of sleeping panda's deep, gentle breathing made the sanctuary feel alive. His thoughts danced to Scar, imagining how the cheery wizard must feel something similar and more to all this, and Grian's heart fluttered at the picture of his shining emerald eyes and bright grin.

He shook his head though and scolded himself. Silly Grian! He knew he couldn't do things like that or it would get him in trouble. Just because he liked guys doesn't mean that he liked every guy he met, and he knew that not everyone on the server was gay so he couldn't make assumptions-

There was a long creak and a slight squelch and shifting of leaves as suddenly Larry the ancient snail that Scar had managed to befriend turned his head to Grian. His eyes on his stalks blinked out of sync and stared right at Grian.

"Oh, hello, Larry," Grian greeted casually. The giant snail (Scar once said something about him being a guardian of the jungle and specifically this lake, Grian wished that he had caught all of it,) was used to the red-sweatered builder coming around. Grian never messed with Scar's stuff (well, except for a couple blocks here and there, or his wheat, or stealing his door,) and Grian certainly never touched the animals around here or magic stuff, so the snail had never really acknowledged Grian except for watching him do his thing.

The snail made a strange whistle-moan and lifted its head to the hole in its shell that Scar had patched up and turned into a nice window. Grian was surprised to see the light on through the pale curtains and hear quiet sniffling through the slight opening.
