Chapter 6

Preity let everyone inside the living room, closed the door then sat next to Rani on the couch in front of Shahrukh, Kajol and Amira sitting on the other couch opposite to them.

'now I need an explanation' Rani said calmly

'no, no, no. pay me up first' Preity objected

'Preity! Fine I will pay you but later'

'no, now'

'I don't have 5,000 rupees in my purse'

'what's going on?' Shahrukh asked

'we made a bet and I won' Preity said proudly shrugging her shoulders

'what bet?' Kajol asked narrowing her eyes

'I thought Shahrukh would never confess his love to you and she was sure that he will confess his love to you. She won' Rani said and sighed

'so you knew all that time!' Shahrukh said looking at both Rani and Preity

'yes, and we really enjoyed watching you all trying to hide it' Preity said giggling and pointing to Shahrukh, Kajol and Amira

'what really surprised me that Amira could keep a secret' Rani said and laughed but Amira only responded with a short smile then Shahrukh moved and sat next to Amira and let her head rest over his chest.

'don't worry, me and Abhishik will never marry' Kajol said reassuring

'it is not about you and Abhishik darling, it is about me and Abhishik who are never meant to be. His father won't agree and I don't really understand why he hates me so much' Amira said desperately

'don't worry, I am sure Abhishik will find a solution, Jaya auntie too. They both love you so much' Shahrukh said trying to calm her down

'Shahrukh is right, she seemed to be surprised just like us' Kajol commented

Amira pulled back gently and stood up but Shahrukh held her hand 'Amira!' he said

'I am fine Shahrukh, I just need some time alone' Amira replied calmly, patted over his hand to leave hers and gave a chuckle 'stop worrying about me' she said and left the room.

'poor girl' Rani said

Shahrukh remained silent for a few minutes before he spoke again 'I am surprised that you aren't angry at me!' he said to Kajol

'well I knew that dad won't let you leave, I trust him so I let him control the situation. And because I expected this behavior from you, running from problems is your profession' Kajol replied coldly

'thanks Kajol' Shahrukh said angrily folding his arms before his chest

'that's the truth, isn't it?' Kajol nearly shouted

'Rani ma'am, we need to call the ambulance for Arjit sahb!' Anarkali said panting when she entered the living room

'dad!' Kajol said, she ran out of the room and all followed her.

'how is he doctor?' Rani was the first one to ask the doctor when he came out of Arjit's room while they all waiting outside in the hospital

'his blood pressure is very high, it is dangerous at his age and if it left untreated it could increase the risk of a heart attack' The doctor said

'oh my god' Kajol said and started crying, Shahrukh hugged to calm her down and Poja rolled her eyes.

'I understand' Rani said to the doctor 'are we allowed to see him?' she asked
