Hiccup's POV

Toothless and I were in one of the stables, cleaning it up and obviously because no one else would volunteer for the work, and knowing Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs, Ruff and Tuff, they would never do this even if their lives depended on it. I was trying to clean by using a broom while Toothless just stayed there sleeping. I turned my back to the door while trying to put all the dirt into one big pile but was interrupted when the door busted open with a big gust of wind that blew my hair into my eyes." Hiccup!" I heard a voice call from the door

I slowly turned around with a nervous laugh and smile, but only to see Astrid there with all the others.

'Oh great'

"Oh hey guys, what are you all doing here?" I asked, with a crooked smile

"Your dad said he needed to talk to all of us" Astrid answered, pointing to everyone

I sighed and walked to the door, and heard Toothless yarn and stubble on his feet and walked up to me.

"So what does he want now?" I asked

"How are we supposed to know, let's just go!" Snotlout groaned and started walking but in the wrong direction

Everyone else started walking toward the direction of the 'Great Hall' and Toothless and I joined. Snotlout must have finally figured out that he went the wrong way because he ended up joining us at the back of the group. When we arrived at the door, Astrid instantly pushed me to the fount and made me open the door, But, I just rolled my eyes and walked in.

The door went open and everyone walked in. I saw my dad there with his back turned and also someone else that I wasn't familiar with. Black hair... white skin...? Something didn't seem right, I looked at Toothless but he just seamed normal and didn't notice anything.

"Um... Hey dad, you said you need to talk to us?" I asked, breaking the silence

My dad turned around and so did the other figure. My eyes shot towards him but I was instantly cut off but Stoick.

"Ahhh Hiccup!" He beamed "There you are!" And started walking towards all of us

'Wow... rare sight to see him joyful'

"Did you want something dad?" I asked again

"Yes, actually, I want you all to meet Eli" He turned, allowing us to see him

The black haired boy walked up to us and bowed. He seemed normal, like everyone else, but there was something off about him.

"Hello everyone, it's nice to meet you all" He told us and lifted his head

I took a step back, but Toothless nudge me forward.

"And he's here for...?" Astrid trailed

"He's here to help you all out at the academy!" Stoick told us, and then continued "Eli, was looking for work, so I decided to give him a job at the Dragon Academy"

Everyone all got there shocked faces on but I was just confused.

"Dad, you can't just make him a member" I said, breaking the silence again

"And why not" He asked

"Because, there're more steps then that. First we'll have to find him a dragon then he'll have to train it to gain its trust, and then there's the flying lessons and--"

"Hiccup!" Stoick cut me off "I didn't mean that he'll become a dragon rider, he'll just be working there temporally" I took another step back, but wasn't shocked
