@InfamousGirl_05 asked for some time travel. I like that idea. I'll see what I can do. (Even if this is messy and a bit confusing oops)

"So how long have you been staying here?"
"Just a few months."
"That's a long time, though, isn't it?"
"Depends on what you define as a long time, sir," I respond, feeling a little cheeky in that moment, but regretting it a second later.

The inspector raises an eyebrow at me, and I manage a small smile. He just huffs and nods, continuing to look around the place. "So what do you plan to do here, Mr Jeon? Get a job, contribute? Hide in the shadows?"
"Bit of both," I respond truthfully after a moment's hesitation. "I like the idea of being normal and nothing more. Sometimes a little ordinary isn't a bad thing."

The inspector tilts his head at me. "Are you saying that you're not ordinary, Mr Jeon?" he asks, the flat tone hiding the danger behind it.
"Nah, past the uniqueness we all have. Everyone's different, sir, in our own way," I reply, trying to keep my tone light. He squints at me for another few seconds before nodding slightly and shrugging.

"Everything seems in order. You're due for another inspection in three months. Keep the flat clean, report problems, and do not lie to the authorities. That way, you'll be perfectly safe. How long are you planning to stay?"

I think about the answer for a few seconds. "I'm not really sure, yet, to be honest, sir. Still figuring everything out a little. Sure, I've been here a few months, but I don't know the next step quite yet. Sometimes decisions take time. Sometimes they don't." I smile to myself, looking up at the ceiling for a moment before levelling my gaze with the inspector's. "Time is a funny thing, after all."

And I would know.

I've lived many years, and I've never found anyone who understands what I've been through more than my partner. We've worked together ever since the dawn of time itself. And when time is horizontal to you, things start to be a little complicated.

There have been times that I'm not able to figure out exactly what's happened and when, simply because the timelines have been mixed up somewhere along the way. But I've figured out a system now, and I know where I stand.

My name is Jeon Jungkook, and I am a time traveller. Someone who explores time and space for fun. I've been to nearly every single historical event across the universe, from the dawn of time, to the end of the world. I have watched humanity grow, and I have watched it fall. It does come with the job, unfortunately. And there's not many of my sort around anymore.

We're quite rare. Since we have a lifetime that's a little more lengthy than most species in the universe, we don't mate for life that often. Most of us remain alone a lot of the time, between partners because they can't cope with the strain of a relationship. When people are in a close relationship for billions of years, things do end up getting dull. And it can be a painful experience.

But it's about being aware of that. It's about keeping the romance alive, even when you feel more dead than alive, even when every piece of evidence shows that you're no longer compatible. Living for so long isn't always a good thing, unfortunately. And I wouldn't want to live forever.

But navigating time can be exciting. It can be a way to keep the love alive through the centuries, as the world turns and changes around you. For a really long time, I struggled with that, knowing where to go and when was the best time to go, but I've gotten better at that part of my role.

They say that once you get used to a spaghetti junction, you know how to get anywhere. I don't know where that's said, maybe it's not a saying yet. If so, I may have just screwed things over again.
