Mabel Pov

Candy and Grenda held tightly to my arms as they stood me back on my feet, even after that they didn't let go. They waved free hands in my face, I could hear them calling my name and asking me all sorts of questions. But I couldn't take my eyes off the monster's back as he walked away, I couldn't bring myself to speak even though the heavy rock feeling in my throat was gone. I watched the man turn a corner and out of sight, I just stared at the spot I had last seen him.

"Mabel? Mabel! Hello? Earth to Mabel!" Grenda grabbed my face and forced me to look her in the eye. "Who the hell was that, has he hurt you, why is he looking for your brother? How did he get across the street so fast? Are you ok? Who the hell was that?" her questions were rapid fired at me and she repeated a few of them over and over.

"Grenda, slow down. Let her breathe." Candy shrieked hitting Grenda's arm.

"Come on Mabel we should get you home. You can explain when we get there." she said lightly tugging on my arm trying to lead me back to the shack. I still couldn't bring myself to speak so I just nodded and let them guide me home.

I felt jumpy as we walked back my I couldn't look in one place for too long, checking around even inch of my view looking for that monster or anything that would signal he was around. But to my relief I saw no sign of him on the way home.

When we got back both Grunkles sat on the couch watching some sort of trash Tv and barely nodded to use when we came in.

"Where's Dipper?" Candy asked.

Grunkle Stan's eyes slid over to us, "He's up in his room still." he muttered before turning his gaze back on the tv.

The girls walked me past my grunkles, walking in front of the tv had earned us a groan and "move move," from both of them.

Going up the stairs we saw the door to Dipper's and my room was closed and when Grenda tried to open it, it was locked. She sighed heavily, "Dipper, open the door!" she groaned.

We didn't hear movement inside.

"Dipper?" Candy called, after a long pause she even knocked on the door. "He must have headphones in." she concluded but I just shook my head.

"Ford took them from him." I muttered barely above a whisper, it was the first thing I had brought myself to say sense the man had confronted us.

They both squeezed my arm lightly.

"Ima kick it in then." Grenda said slowly letting go of my arm.

"You don't need to do that, there should be a key above the door." I said still below a whisper.

Grenda paused for a moment before reaching up to feel for the key, in under a few seconds she had found it and was able to unlock the door. When we opened it we found Dipper past out on the bed with what looked like ear buds in his ears, he must have stolen them from our grunkles or even made them himself. His bed and the floor around it was littered in little inventions and crumpled paper, he was getting very bored in this room everyday.

"Guess he found headphones." Candy hummed.

We decided to let him sleep and just talk quietly on my bed.

"Mabel who was that? What happened." Grenda asked as she sat down on the bed next to me.

"He- I don't know. When Dipper went missing and we went out looking for him in the morning we ran into that man and he threatens us, he threatened Dipper. Thats why Dipper has to stay here. Ford is just trying to keep him safe from that man." I explained quietly watching Dippers chest rise and fall as he slept.
