chapter 17: greyhound

i pull open a large glass door to reveal the large animals playing in their designated parts of the store. Conner and i walk over to the puppy pen to pick out our new pet. i notice a small puppy cowering in the corner and i place my hand into the pen for it to get used to my smell. It slowly walked towards my hand and smelt it. After a few seconds it allowed me to pick it up. "Can we get this one?" I asked the store owner. They placed three small collars on the counter and the puppy picked its own collar. It was a white and grey camouflage collar with a name tag that had his new name and my number in case he ran off. I placed him in a pet carrier and walked around to get some other things for him. As we walked around the store i noticed a young girl and her family, including an android, looking at the same puppie pen. The young girl pointed to a small energetic puppie, but suddenly looked dissapointed. "No, skyler we cant afford to look after a puppie right now mabye next year." The mother said turning towards the small girl. I walked over to them and asked them if i could help with their money problems, "its really nothing i can help you." I muttered. Conner stood behind me his LED flashing. "Thats very kind of you but i cant take your money you need it." The mother answered placing a hand on my shoulder. She takes her family out of the store and i continue walking around. Conner and i picked out some more things for the puppie before leaving. We had decided on a name for our puppie, he was called bruno. Bruno the grayhound
