Chapter 37 ♔

Jihoon hesitated, "U-Uhm-"

I cut him off, "Yes it's true. We've been dating for a few years now and we love eachother very much. Now it's my turn to ask you a question. What are doing with my boyfriend?"

"W-We were on a blind date...arranged by our parents. We're going to get married soon.." she uttered with a shaky voice.

I gave her a fake smile, "Sorry to burst your bubble sweetie, but that's not gonna happen. Jihoon is clearly in love with me, so there's no way in hell he'd be interested in a homewrecker like you. Right babe?~" I batted my eyelashes at Jihoon.

Jihoon gulped and looked back at me with wide eyes, "R-Right.."

I swear I just saw a slight blush creep up on his cheeks.

He then looked back at Naomi with a stern expression, "I'm sorry but I love Y/N and Y/N only. She's my girlfriend and the love of my life. The one I want to marry is her, not you.."

Naomi looked taken aback for a few seconds before she spoke up, "B-But what about our date just now? I wholeheartedly expressed all my feelings for you and you said you felt the same! You liked me too, Jihoon! I could see it in your eyes! Why didn't you tell me you had a girlfriend?!!"

Jihoon looked at her with a blank expression, "I had no other choice but to go on this blind date in order to impress my parents. They would never leave me alone if I disobeyed them. So don't misunderstand. It had nothing to do with you," he said coldly.

Ouch. Even I felt that burn.

I'd hate to be in this girl's position right now.

The last time I saw Jihoon this cold was when he beat up Justin at that party.

Naomi stared at him in disbelief, "So you led me on just to impress your parents?!"

"Yes."

She grinded her jaw, "I don't believe you! This girl is probably just your friend and she's pretending to be your fake girlfriend! You're just trying to find excuses to avoid your arranged marriage!"

Our eyes widened. How did she guess the truth so accurately? 

I tried not to flinch. I maintained my composure and squeezed Jihoon's shoulder to give him support. He looked back at me and smiled in gratitude. 

I smirked at her, "Oh honey, please get over yourself. It sounds like the only one trying to make excuses here is you. You just can't accept the fact that my boyfriend loves me and not you~"

She glared at me, "Oh yeah? If you love eachother so much, then why don't you prove it? Kiss eachother in front of me," she demanded with her arms crossed. 

My eyes widened in shock. 

K-Kiss? She wants Jihoon and I to kiss?!

I glanced at Jihoon. He looked just as shocked as me.

I gulped. We never practiced kissing in our fake boyfriend-girlfriend act!! She's asking for too much!

Besides, I'm engaged to Daniel for god's sake! There's no way in hell I'm gonna cheat on him. 

Jihoon chuckled nervously, "Just a kiss? That's easy! Any couple can do that!" he said and leaned over to peck me on the cheek.

I blushed.

Naomi shook her head, "Not on the cheek. Anyone can do that. I want to see a real kiss. On the lips."

My heart rate increased. Damn it! She's not letting us go easily!

I scoffed, "Why should we listen to you? My babe Jihoon and I clearly love eachother so much, we don't need your approval. Stop asking us to do crazy things."

She tilted her head, "Crazy things? But I thought kissing was normal for a couple, am I wrong? Or maybe...you guys are lying after all. I was right! Your relationship is as fake as my nails~" she chirped.

Jihoon sighed, "Naomi, please trust us. We're telling the truth. We really are dating."

"Then prove it. Kiss, now."

"We can't-"

Naomi smiled, "Alright then. I'll just go ahead and tell our parents that our blind date was a success and that we both have agreed to proceed with the arranged marriage."

I narrowed my eyes at her. This snake! 

I can't believe it. She looked so innocent and kind at first sight. Looks really can be deceiving...

Jihoon panicked, "W-What?! You can't do that! I didn't agree to this at all. You can't blackmail me into marrying you."

"Then prove it to me that you're really dating this girl. Kiss-"

Before she could finish her sentence, Jihoon suddenly grabbed the back of my head pulled my face towards him. 

My eyes widened and I didn't have any time to react as Jihoon's lips smashed against mine.

Initially, I thought I would spend the day playing fake girlfriend with Jihoon to scare off his stupid blind dates. 

Never in a million years did I expect to share a kiss with my best friend, despite the fact that I'm engaged to Daniel.

Little did I know, from the moment my lips locked with Jihoon's, my feelings would change drastically, along with my future.

This event marked the start of a very messy situation between Jihoon, Daniel, and I. 

How will this play out? What will be the results of my actions?

Only time will tell.

Don't worry, I didn't expect it either lol. I wrote this chapter at my Uni campus when I only had 1 hour of sleep the night before 😴 so I was feeling bold lol.

Btw, the more I write this story, the more I'm falling in love with Jihoon ❤️ I often have daydreams about him haha. 

It's kinda weird. I'm actually not a huge fan of Daniel or Jihoon. I used to love Wanna One in 2017 but then lost interest. But I continued writing this story cuz writing is my true passion. But thru writing, I couldn't help but fall for Jihoon!! 💌 Weird, right?
