Your POV:
I looked at Jihoon and the other Wanna One members nervously before I picked up the call.
Jihoon smiled and gave me a nod of assurance, signalling me to answer the phone.
I accepted the call and placed the phone against my ear, "Hello?"
A very familiar voice boomed through the phone, "Yes hello. This is Aunt Linda. I know where you are right now so don't bother making excuses." She spat in a stern voice.
I froze, unable to comprehend the reason behind her aggressive tone.
So she knows where I am...probably through Daniel...and she's mad because?
It's just a birthday party. What's there to be mad about?
I cleared my throat before answering, "Hello Aunt Linda. C-Can I ask why you called? Do you need anything?" I asked hesitantly.
She hissed, "You have the audacity to ask me such a thing?! You are at a party filled with men for goodness sake! Alone! Without your finance! Do you even have any shame in that dirty body of yours??"
I stayed silent after hearing her outburst.
Honestly, why does she care so much about my business?
Why can't she just leave me alone for once?!
I've always heard horror stories about evil stepmothers torturing their poor daughters...or even evil mother-in-laws.
But this is the first time I've seen an evil Aunt Linda...
Honestly, I'm really regretting getting engaged to Daniel now.
If only I had the courage to stand up to my parents and refuse the marriage..
...or maybe even rebel and run away from home for a while..
..maybe then I wouldn't have to go through all this headache and torture.
I let out a deep sigh before speaking through the phone, "It's not what you think Aunt Linda. It's just an innocent birthday party that I'm celebrating with close friends. They're Daniel's friends too so I can assure you that they're trustworthy." I said calmly.
She scoffed, "Well then why would you go there alone without your fiance? You're just taking advantage of the fact that he's a busy working man so you can go partying with his friends behind his back."
"Actually, I did ask Daniel if he wanted to go as well. But he said he couldn't make it because of work." I retorted.
"Hmm? I don't think so. Your Daniel is actually at home, sitting right beside me in fact. And he's very desperate for his wife to come home. Isn't that right, Daniel?" she cooed.
