Chapter 13 ♔

Your POV:

It had been a week since the drowning incident. Since then, Daniel and Eomma have been taking good care of me. They'd always make me rest, cook for me, and give me medicines. 

Although it was kind of annoying to be treated like a child all the time, I really appreciated their efforts.

There was a knock on my door. "Come in!" I answered.

The door opened and Eomma came in with a tray of food and drinks. "Hey honey! I'm glad you're awake cause I brought you breakfast!" She placed the tray on the table beside me.

"Eomma! You really didn't have to~" I pouted. 

"Oh, but I wanted to! Actually, I'm going out to the office today so I felt guilty for not being able to look after you today. So I prepared some fresh, handmade breakfast! Eat up alright?" She gushed and kissed my cheek before rushing off to work.

I stared at her retreating figure in disbelief. 

Wow...Eomma is too nice. Even nicer than my actual mother lol. I'm so lucky to have her.

I was about to take a bite of the food, but was interrupted by yet another knock. "Come in!" I answered again. 

The door opened once again, this time revealing Daniel. He smiled once he saw me, "Hey babe what's up?"

"Oh hey Daniel....wait why're you home? Didn't you have work today?"

"I did, but I took the day off to take care of you. Now we can relax and spend the day together. Isn't that great?" He said in excitement and sat on the edge of my bed.

I sighed, "Daniel....you really didn't have to. I'm completely fine, trust me. The drowning thing happened a week ago, and I've been resting well this past week because of your and Eomma's care. So please, don't sacrifice your work for me. I'm fine–"

I was interrupted as Daniel took a spoonful of food and shoved it in my mouth. "C'mon baby girl~ Open up wide! Say ahh~" he tried to feed me.

I blushed, "Yah! Did you even listen to what I just said? And you don't have to feed me. I told you I'm fine!"

He chuckled and put the spoon down, "Of course I listened, babe. I know that you're feeling well now and capable of handling yourself. It's just that...I've been working so much lately that I haven't been able to see you as much. It made me realize how much I miss my fiancée," he spoke softly.

I didn't say anything....he literally made me speechless. I just kept staring into his eyes.

He smiled and stroked my hair, "So just let me take care of you today. This is your future husband's wish. Can you fulfill it for me jagi?" 

I blushed and looked away, "Ugh! You're so cheesy Daniel!" 

He laughed, "But you love it don't you?"

I cleared my throat, "So, are you gonna tell me why you're here?"

His eyes lit up, "Oh right! I came to say that I have a surprise prepared for you. So finish up your breakfast and join me downstairs when you're done alright?" 

"Alright," I nodded.

He smiled and kissed my cheek before leaving the room.

Surprise? I wonder what it could be..
