A few days had passed since I had seen Klayton Allan.

Or Professor Allan.

Or Klayton.

Shit.

I didn't know what to call him. The first class I had with him had been on Monday, and today was Wednesday. I was looking forward to today. I'm not sure why, but I was itching to talk to him again. His voice was stuck in my mind like a melody, and his face plagued all of my dreams. All I could think about was his jet black hair, and his lips kissing me all the way from my neck to my...

Okay. I need to focus and get a handle on myself.

I have his class twice a week and finally, as today rolled around, I would be able to see him again. Although the content he was teaching was boring, the view certainly was not. Gross. I sound like a giddy school girl with a crush.

But maybe I was.

~

I saunter into the classroom with a newly appointed confidence and decide to take a seat in the middle of the room. This felt like a safe enough distance from him where I couldn't embarrass myself, but I still could enjoy the view that was him. Most of the student body arrived around the same time I did, so I was stuck sitting next to a random boy and unexpectedly, Maya once again.

Although our last meeting was rough and confusing, she had made her way over to me. We began talking as if our last encounter didn't end so strangely, and suddenly any doubt I had about her evaporated from my mind. She seems like a really down to earth girl, with her red hair as bouncy and as light as her personality. Small talk came easy between us and I couldn't stop laughing at small jokes she made.

Just as last time, the conversation throughout the class had died down immediately once a strong presence entered our classroom. I didn't have to glance up to know what caused it, yet I felt almost compelled to do so.

Almost instantly, our eyes meet. His gaze almost darkens under my heated gaze and I have to tear my eyes away from his. I glance down at my laptop and pretend to be doing something on.

Be still, my beating heart.

My heart was racing and I have no idea why he makes me feel the strangest of ways. I look up again and to my relief, he is starting his lecture.

Throughout the 3 hour lecture, I couldn't help but be interested in everything he was saying. The words he spoke, with such riveting passion, was kind of a turn on. I looked around and saw a few of the females around me wistfully eyeing him, probably thinking the same thing I did. I frowned, but it wasn't my place to say anything. I mean, he wasn't mine.

However, I found myself fiddling with my fingers whenever his eyes quickly glanced towards mine. Whenever they did, he would quickly look in any direction but mine. Is he avoiding me? I thought with a sudden dread.

Once he had announced the lecture was over, the crowd began to leave the room. As I was hastily packing things up, he suddenly asked a student to stay behind to discuss something.

That student, being me.

I begrudgingly trekked over to him, and he gestured for me to take a seat beside his desk. Complying, I took the seat next to him while he mirrored my actions.

"May I ask what this is about?" I said as softly as I could. I really just wanted to get out of here— away from his heated gaze.

"Well this isn't my first year teaching at Myersdale University, and I've lived in this town for a very long time. I wanted to see how the new girl was doing. How are you settling? No one comes to Myersdales without me knowing about it," he says in a teasing manner. I couldn't help but think there was a slight truth to his words, as I notice many people slightly cowering around him. I mean, the way this man is built, is intimidating enough as is.
