But wait.

Why do I even care so much whether he stays single or not?  It's literally none of my business.

A true friend should feel happy when their friend is getting married - not miserable.

Then why am I feeling so protective over Jihoon?

Could it be that I actually do have feelings for-

No.

Stop right there, Y/N.

You don't like Jihoon. You like Daniel.

"You are engaged to Daniel. You love Daniel" the voice inside my head repeated over and over again.

That's right. I'm loyal to Daniel. I only love Daniel.

Besides, this isn't about me. This is about Jihoon. The main reason we're doing this is because he doesn't wanna get married in the first place.

My feelings have nothing to do with it. Get it together, Y/N!  I mentally slapped myself, trying to regain myself.

My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a chair screeching against the floor. I looked up to see Jihoon pulling a chair out for his blind date.

He smiled and motioned for her to sit down. She obliged and simply took a seat without saying a word. Jihoon then walked over to his side of the table and took a seat himself.

A few seconds of awkward silence passed until Jihoon decided to break the silence, "So...what's your name?" he asked.

No answer.

"Uhm, hello?"

Still no answer.

The only sound that could be heard was the harsh clicking of acrylic nails against a phone screen.

Yep, you got that right. Jihoon's blind date was too busy texting to listen to anything Jihoon was saying.

Jihoon sighed and leaned back in his chair, awkwardly stroking the back of his head.

I rolled my eyes. I was really worried for nothing, huh?

Sure, she's got the looks. But her personality is nothing more than trash.

There's no way Jihoon would fall for someone like her.

A few more seconds passed until Jihoon decided to speak up again. But this time, he raised his voice, "So what's your name??"

At last, she finally looked up from her phone, "Shao Ling." She simply answered.

Ah. So she's Chinese.

Jihoon smiled and reached out his hand for a handshake, "Nice to meet you, Shao Ling. I'm Park Jihoon." he greeted politely.

Shao Ling rolled her eyes and forcefully shook Jihoon's hand with very little enthusiasm.

Jihoon pulled his hand back and started a conversion, "Uhm...so, why don't you tell me about yourself?"

Shao Ling looked at him with sharp eyes, "I'm the heiress of one of the richest fashion companies in China. My parents are the CEOs of many conglomerate businesses in the country. What about you, Jihoon?"

Jihoon looked at her awkwardly, "I'm...just a normal guy I guess haha. Though my parents own several restaurant chains in Korea and America."

"I see..." Shao Ling muttered, looking very unimpressed.

Jihoon continued, "So...what do you like to do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies?"

"..." Shao Ling started ignoring him once again, focusing all her attention on her phone.

Jihoon sighed and slumped down in his seat once again.

Geez. She's making it painfully obvious that she isn't interested in him.

A few minutes later, Shao Ling finally looked up from her phone and at Jihoon, "Where is the restroom? I need to go."

"Oh! The washroom is over there by the counter. Go ahead." Jihoon smiled.

Shao Ling stood up and strutted off into the washroom.

Once she was out of sight, Jihoon immediately stood up from his chair and ran over to the kitchen, where I was.

He gently opened the door and walked inside, then closed the door once again, locking it.

I chuckled, seeing his flustered expression, "That girl is really something, huh? She made it way too obvious she hates you," I commented.

Jihoon groaned and scratched his nape, "Noona~ help me!! Why do I always get stuck with such snobby girls? Not gonna lie, at first I thought she was really pretty. But her attitude ruins it~ Ahh there's no way I'm gonna marry her! Absolutely not!!" he pouted.

I laughed and pinched his cheek, "Don't worry cutie. You don't have to marry her. That's why I'm here! To make sure you don't accidentally fall for any of these girls!"

Jihoon smiled and poked my cheek, "Thank you cutie, I really appreciate it. And you don't have to worry about me falling for any of them. It's not gonna happen. Besides, you're way prettier than any of them could ever be. Personality-wise and looks."

I blushed, feeling flustered once again.

Oh Jihoon...how many times will you make my heart beat today?

Suddenly, we heard the sound of the washroom door opening. Shao Ling had come out.

Jihoon sighed and looked at me, "She's back. I should go now, bye noona."

"Bye Jihoon! Hwaiting!" I gave him an encouraging smile.

He returned the smile before turning around and walking out the door.

But not even a second later, Jihoon slammed open the door, bursting into the kitchen once again.

I looked at him in question, "What's wrong Jihoon?"

Jihoon looked at me with a flustered expression, "Noona...Shao Ling...she's gone!! he exclaimed, with obvious hints of excitement in his tone.

My eyes widened, "Wait...she left?! She seriously just left without telling you?"

He nodded, "Yep!! I'm free!! One girl down, two more to go!"

I smirked.

So far, operation "trash the blind dates" was a success.

A/N: Fun Fact: The character "Shao Ling" was inspired by my best friend from highschool. Every characteristic from Shao Ling matches my best friend - except the mean part haha. Despite being rich and extremely gorgeous, her personality was the sweetest in the whole world. ♡

Ps. I made a crappy edit of Jihoon x myself (as a joke). What do ya guys think? 😂😂

Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed the chapter!! Until next time ♡♡
