I looked at the 2 sticks with widen eyes,"I'm pregnant" I said to nobody in particular "I'm pregnant", a faint smile cracked onto my face as I clutched gently onto my stomach "can't wait to see you" I whispered looking down and smiling
rushing downstairs and decided to call Jackie dialing the phone number, i quickly placed the phone towards my ear
"Heyyyyy girlie, what's up" she shouted into the phone
"Jackie, why the hell are you shouting in the goddamn phone" i hissed at the loudness of my friend
"well i apologize Mrs Nikole, but your're the one who's calling so what do you want" she replied slightly laughing
"well, you may want to sit down for this"
"what you pregnant" she interrupted then burst into laughter "Nikole...Nikole are you, you aren't"
"i am, i know you might be thinking-"
"I GOING TO BE AN AUNTIEEE" she screamed from the other end of phone making me cringe
"Jackie, please quiet the hell down" i scowled
"sorry, anyways you have no idea, how much i wanted to an auntie ohh i can buy her so many things, probably spoil her to death"
"but how do you know it's girl, what if it's a boy" i asked playing with my worn out nails
"then i'll teach him the ropes of getting the ladies....with class" she replied chuckling
"whatever Jackie, i'll see you later" we both hung up and i sat there thinking of a way to tell Luke 'Luke honey, i'm pregnant.....................no that's to upfront.....I GOT A BUN IN THE OVEN....urgh everyone does that' i thought as i started thinking of ideas, until i loud knock came on the front door
'what the-' , i opened the door to come face to face with Jackie smiling widely at me
"Jack, why are you here?" i asked furrowing my eyebrows in confusion
"i'm here because knowing you, you have no idea how to break to him.....and i'm here to help" she replied walking past me and into the kitchen "so you want to tell him, in a creative way not the same ol 'honey, i'm pregnant' story almost everyone does that" I nodded quickly following her to the living room
"so we will need, construction paper, scissors, glue, glitter, some tape, and markers" she said pulling out bunch of supplies "we are going to make sure he knows he banged you up and banged you up gooood"
I laughed at Jackie's weirdness, but i guess i do need some help in telling him
1 hour late
"NIKOLE, I TOLD YOU TO GLUE THE RED ONE, NOT GREEN" Jackie yelled making me jump
"what's the big deal, im just-"
"WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL, I'LL TELL YOU THE BIG DEAL....YOUR PREGNANT AND WE'RE TRYING TO COME UP WITH A WAY TO TELL HIM AND WHAT DO YOU DO....YOU PUT A GREEN COLOUR ON GREEN" she interuppted tearing the paper from my hands and re-pasting it
"last time i checked, i was the one that woke up to morning sickness not you" i mumbled playing with the scissors
"*sigh*, i'm sorry Nikole, it's just that i want to help you out and i want him to know that your pregnant and that he should be there...that's all"
"i know, it's just we've been dating for only a year, and then all of a sudden i come pregnant, i mean i'm all sort of kind of nervous, i don't know if he's going to freak out or walk out or just plain faint....." i replied cutting out a P and an E with the red paper
"well if he walks out, he'll walk out to my foot kicking his ass" she laughed making me laugh along with her
"oh my god Jackie, i love you"
"i know you do" she replied and we continued on cutting
2 Hours Later
"Okay so all you have to do, is lead him towards the kitchen and then BAM, he's a dad" she said packing her things and walking towards the door
"alrights, thank you so much Jackie, you have no idea" i replied hugging her
"no problem, good luck girlie and if he walks out...my foot will kick his ass" she replied making me chuckle
"alright, i'll call you first" i laughed
"you better" she yelled from the end of her car, and just like that i was alone, alone to think about all the things i'm going to say to Luke....walking towards our shared bedroom i sat and waited for his return
7 Hours Later
i heard the door open and close, already knowing that he was home, rushing downstairs to stop him before he gets into the kitchen
"hey babe, how was work" i cooed wrapping my arms around his neck, but then seeing a small love bite on the back of his neck
"uh Luke, what is that?" i slowly asked turning him around
"what is what?" he asked back raising an eyebrow
"the love bite on your neck Luke" i answered back my voice slightly raising
"it's nothing, i happened to fall and injure myself on the neck" he replied calm
"don't give me that bullshit....who is she"
"who's who-"
"THE GIRL YOUR CHEATING ON ME WITH....WHO THE HELL IS SHE" i yelled my voice becoming affected by the lump in my throat
"Nikole look i-"
"so you are cheating on me......a whole year of my effort and time and this is what i receive" i asked my eyes welling up in tears
"oh come on Nikole, your telling me that you didn't see this coming" he scoffed rolling his eyes
"see what coming....what do you mean" i asked back not wanting to hear his answer
"i mean. we're always fighting always arguing, i mean for crying out loud we haven't slept together in 3 months" he replied laughing at the last part, making my heart literally break into pieces
"so this what a relationship is to you, it's all about sex is that what you wanted" i replied my blood boiling
"Nikole, i never wanted to have a serious relationship, i mean i'm surprised that we even lasted for a year" he said walking past me and into our bedroom
"what are you doing?" i carefully asked already knowing what's happening next
"i'm leaving you, as you can see" he replied shoving his clothes into his suitcase and zipping it up
"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WHY LEAVE ME, AFTER A FULL FUCKING YEAR TOGETHER" i yelled my blood reaching the boiling point "WHY DIDN'T YOU BREAK UP WITH ME EARLIER"
"because Nikole i thought you could figure it out yourself and realize that yourself...but i guess it has to be done the hard way" he shrugged walking down the stairs
"FINE GO BACK WITH YOUR SLUT, HOPE SHE REALIZES WHAT BIG OF AN ASSHOLE YOU ARE" I yelled as he walked outside the door
The minute the door closed, i broke down a full year and this is what happens, clutching my stomach i sobbed even harder, "it's okay baby, mommy's going to take care of you...that's my promise" you whisper rubbing my stomach and walking towards the kitchen to remove the supposed surpise
