Chapter 29

Nico's POV

"Damn it!" I say, because burned myself while pulling the cookie out of the oven. I step over to the kitchen to run cold water on my finger.After a few minutes I pull it out of the stream of water and turn the faucet off. I stare at the shiny burn mark on my finger. Jason walks up behind me and says, "Ouch! How'd that happen?" I point at the cookie. He walks over to it and pulls it out. He says, "Uhh, Nico, I think you might've burnt the cookie just slightly." I turn around and look. I see that the cookie is as black as coal. I groan and say, "I can't cook." Leo just smirks. Suddenly, he grabs me from behind. He starts to tickle me so I laugh like crazy.Jason walks in and I hear him mutter, "Ummmmm, ooooookaay..." Then I imagine how weird this must look. Leo standing behind me holding me tight not letting go and tickling me. I chuckle at that thought, then Leo finally stops tickling me. 'Thank the gods that's over!" I say, like it was horrible. He just snickers. After a while of us standing in the same position, everyone walks in and they all start looking for something. Leo whispers ti me, "The food's in the pantry. Let's get some and make them figure out where it is." I nod, then he lets go. He grabs two spoons and two bowls, then I follow him over to a door that you don't notice unless you are looking for it. Leo opens it and we slip through. We grab some cereal and we pour it into the bowls, then he steps over to the fridge that is also in the pantry,. We get the milk out, pouring the milk into our bowls, and we then proceed to put the milk back. We step back into the kitchen to see people still looking for food. We walk to the counter and start eating our cereal. One by one, everyone notices and comes over. As though it was the plan all along, they all reach for the bowls.
