What does it mean to deserve something,

to deserve someone,

do we all deserve something

whether it be good or bad,

punishment or reward

Do we deserve to be happy and find a good love because we are "a good person"

Do we rather deserve to be alone, forgotten, forsaken because we've done wrong

Does a trust that is earned and lost deserve a second chance to do better

I know what I have done,

what I have seen,

what I've experienced

Yet I don't know if I deserve any of what I wish for,

if I deserve you

I don't know if anyone truly "deserves" anything

In the end,

I don't know if "deserve" is even the right word
