In modern-day Europe, during a lunar eclipse, making a stop at the Arryn River channel of the Montfort River, a fully clothed Perseus Poetri waded into the water and began swimming. The wake of a passing boat sucked Poetri under, and he drowned.

He feel the waves lapping over, and over, and over his frantically waving hand. It tires and drops helplessly under, next to his burning body. It feels as though his lungs are filled with acid ㅡ ever ripe and ready to burst. The worst part is, whenever he think that this was his limit, this was his end, he hold on that bit longer. Clenched fist. Eyes wide. Mouthㅡstill shut. He push one last time, reaching for gods-knows-what. He fail, of course. He try to relaxㅡnot working. He then gulp as much as he can, wanting this nightmare to be over. It fills his mouth, looking for any pathway it can find to finish him. And it does.
