"You're finally awake, princess!" I froze, feeling tears well up in my eyes. I only let Alma call me princess. "Alma...? I-Is that you? What happened to you? Where are we?" I queried, looking around frantically at the dimly lit room we were in. My wandering eyes stopped on Cattia, who was leaning against a wall. I scowled. The more I looked at her, however, the more I noticed how much she looked different. The tint of her skin was a dark grey and the stars on her forehead gave me an instant idea of where I was.
"Alma, did you bring me to the lair of the Noah family?! Why?!" I demanded, my hands clenching into fists and stomping my feet angrily on the concrete floor. I was clenching my hands so tightly that my nails dug deep into the palms of my hands, making them bleed. Cattia sneered and rolled her eyes, pushing off of the wall and left the room. Alma sighed contently and stood up from his kneeling position, making his way over to a drawer. He pulled it open and revealed the drawer's contents, which was full of tools but I couldn't see all of them, even if I strained my neck. "Well, you're here because we need a way into the Black Order so that we can bring the place down. We chose you because you were at your weakest times. We knew you'd be easy to break," He said this as he pulled out a frighteningly large butcher knife. "Now, you've been given your answer. Enough with the explanation, and let's get to the fun part~"
The family took turns torturing me every single day for 5 months straight with no breaks. When they thought I was completely broken and ready to be used in action, they extracted my soul from my body and gave is to Alma, who used me like a puppet. The Lord Milliuem allowed me to watch the show that my "puppet" put on. It sickens me.
~Present Time~
I gave in to the tears as the disappointment and sadness grew overwhelming. I watched myself straddle Kanda and choke him out with the stick of my scythe. My heart began to sink into my stomach as his face began to turn blue and purple. I sighed shakily and looked down at my lap, giving up when I realized that it was all over. A loud masculine shout erupted from the outside and it lit a spark of hope in me again. I looked up, the tears still falling and watched Kanda fight against me, punching me in the face to buy himself some time to get back on his feet. I fumbled up to my feet and jumped up and down, cheering as the fight unraveled and traveled back towards the Order. The fight went back and forth; I took a victory, then Kanda would take the next one.
Eventually, we reached the chaotic battlefield full of thousands of Akumas and thousands of Exorcists, who fought in front of a burning Order behind them all. Through the eyes of the puppet, I saw Lenalee killing Akumas left and right. A small smile formed on my lips as I caught a glimpse of the determination burning bright in her eyes to save the home that she cared for so much. That determination added fuel to the flame of hope inside of me. I looked frantically around the room to find a way out of this prison, feeling around my cell to make an estimate on the perimeter. After coming to the conclusion that my prison cell was a small, boxy room, I patted down the walls to find something out of the ordinary. I continued my investigation diligently, ignoring the occasional shaking of the Akumas cannons from the outside. My hands patted the walls until my palms felt a handle.
I grabbed hold of it tightly and pulled it out towards me. Something fell from the casing and it clattered loudly against the ground. I dropped to my knees and searched the floor in a panicked state. My hand brushed against a handle and I picked it up, noticing almost immediately that it was heavy. Using my other hand, I took an educated guess as to what I was holding, realizing that is was a gun. I laughed out triumphantly at the victory. I glanced through my eyes to see how the fight was going and found that I was still attacking Kanda. I looked back at the gun, then through my eyes, sighing heavily.
"It's now or never!" I pointed at the screens and took a deep breath, pulling the trigger and seeing the walls break away. I dropped the gun and ran towards the broken screens, my running turning into a full sprint as a white light appeared in front of me. I reached out to it and it engulfed me. A feeling of comfort washed over me and I was at peace for a moment. Suddenly, a hand was placed roughly on my shoulder and an excruciating pain blossomed in my abdomen. In shock, I looked down at the source of the pain, then up at the person who did it. My eyes widened when I realized it was Kanda, who stared back at me with mirrored shock on his face.
"Lotus?" He said in a soft, wavery voice. I blinked back the tears and smiled softly at the nickname. I reached up and cupped his cheek, my smile growing wider. It was a beautiful moment, but it was ruined when suddenly, I started coughing up dangerously large amounts of blood and collapsed to my knees, bringing Kanda down with me onto the bloodied ground. My eyesight began to blur and my hearing only picked up muffled voices and sounds of blasts. My senses grew worse when I couldn't even hear my beloved's voice. I couldn't allow myself to die this way, but was I really the one control that?
