Your P.O.V
I woke up to the feeling of muscular arms wrapping around my waist lazily. I hummed softly while opening my eyes, squinting because of the light that streamed through my window. After I adjusted to the light in the room, I carefully turned in Kanda's arms to face him, smiling at the sight that slept in front of me. Most of Kanda's blue hair was sprawled across the pillow, while some strands rested on his face. His sleeping face was peaceful and his lips were slightly parted. I giggle and reached out to tuck a strand of hair behind his ear before I slowly got out of bed. I quickly brushed out the knots in my hair and slipped on my uniform coat. Once I was ready to go, I walked over to my door and went to grab the doorknob until I heard a soft, tired groan behind me.
I turned around and smirked, placing my hands on my hips and shook my head disapprovingly when I saw Kanda sit up in bed. "The Yuu I know wouldn't wake up this late. He would be up at 5 AM sharp meditating in the training room," I tilted my head, raising a brow. "Who is this stranger in my bed?" I said tauntingly and laughed when he gave me his all too familiar death glare. "Oh, don't look at me like that. Get your ass up. I'm hungry." I leaned against the wall and watched as Kanda got ready to leave. After what felt like hours had passed, Kanda and I were finally out the door and began to head for the mess hall. We were happily reminiscing about our childhood when all of a sudden there was a giggle behind us and pair of slim arms snaked themselves around Kanda's arm. Before we could even react to the arms, a curvy body shoved its way between me and my friend.
"Good morning, Kanda! How did you sleep? Hopefully well~" Kanda tore his arm away from the girl, his only response being an angry growl, and sped walked towards the mess hall with me being dragged close behind him. We eventually made it to the busy mess hall and ducked into the long line of other exorcists who were ready to order their food. As we caught our breaths, Lenalee and Allen soon joined us in the line. My legs ached from trying to keep up with Kanda, so I ended up leaning on Lenalee for support. "Why so tired, (Y/N)? Usually, you're very awake in the morning." Allen asked as he observed my exhausted state. I glanced at Kanda for help with my answer, but he rolled his eyes and grunted, going back to waiting in the line. "Well, Kanda and I were running from the new member. She's a bit crazy about Kanda," I chuckled at Kanda's flustered face.
"It's a part of my regular morning routine, so nothing to worry about it," I replied sarcastically. Lenalee and Allen only laughed at our misfortune. After receiving our tray of food and settling into our seats, Lenalee, Allen and I were having casual conversations and all was well. That is until Lenalee started asking me some very personal questions. She rested her cheek on her palm and flashed a cat-like grin. "So, (Y/N), it's Valentines Day next week. Do you have a crush on anyone in the Order?" I stared blankly at my friend, shocked at her straightforwardness. It was never like her to ask such a question, and it made me debate whether or not I should tell her about this brewing crush that I have.
I sighed as I came to my final verdict. "Yes, I do have someone that I like, but I'll tell you more about him in private," I said as I flicked my eyes over to Allen, who was clearly eavesdropping in a not so subtle way. After finishing my breakfast, I stood up from my seat and handed back my tray to Jerry. Lenalee followed suit and walked with me over to the training room. Instead of training, however, we talked about the apple of my eye. "Sooo~Who is it?" Lenalee asked in a sing-song voice as we sat on the floor, stretching out our muscles due to the intense training session we had yesterday. As I sat in a butterfly stretch, popping my hips a bit, I inhaled deeply and looked at my friend dead in the eyes. "I have a bit of a crush on Kanda." She looked dumbfounded mouth agape at first, but then she started squealing and jumping around the room while I remained on the floor.
After a full two minutes of Lenalee's screams of excitement, she started planning my confession to Kanda for me while I just listened. "I think you should just tell him how it is. Kanda isn't one for cliche, sappy confessions, right?" I nodded absentmindedly, not really paying her any find as I stretched in a lunge. "First, you should tell him to meet you in this very room tonight. Then, tell him how you feel. Afterward, leave that in fates hands!" I rolled my eyes and stood upright, bending back a bit and popping my back. "That sounds like a plan, Lenalee." Lenalee smiled cutely and hugged me tightly. "(Y/N), I'll be there when you ask Kanda to meet you here, but you have to do the rest on your own."
Even though I tried to keep my cool, my heart was beating faster than the speed of light.
Later that day, Lenalee and I slowly walked up to Kanda's room, and she gave me words of encouragement to ease my nerves. Once the two of us were finally at the door, I looked to her and she gave me a reassuring smile. I smiled back with a lot of uncertainty, but I turned back to face the door and knocked anyway. She gave me a supportive squeeze on the shoulder as the door opened, revealing Kanda in his nightclothes and his hair was not in its usual ponytail, hanging loosely down his back and shoulders. A scowl adorned his face until he realized it was me who walked. "Is there something you need, (Y/N)?" I looked in his eyes and sighed as the butterflies in my stomach got the best of me. "Meet me in-in the training r-room tonight at 7. Don't be late!" I stuttered out and turned away, scurrying away before he could even respond.
I spent 30 minutes getting ready with the help of Lenalee. She chose an outfit for me to wear and helped my dress into it. Then, she styled my hair a bit and slipped a beautiful pin in. After adding only a small amount of makeup to my face, Lenalee stood back and admired my appearance. "You look beautiful, (Y/N). He'll be swayed for sure." She hummed, handing me a mirror to see her handy work. I turned my head side to side and smiled softly, handing the mirror back to her. "Thank you, Lenalee." Lenalee giggled and ushered me out of the door.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. You can thank me after he accepts your confession!" I grinned like a big idiot and hurried off in the direction of the training room, thinking of all of the positive scenarios that could happen, each one making the blush on my face brightening with each scenario. As I neared the door of the training room, I reached out and slid the door open, my heart practically pounding out of my chest. "I'm here-" I started, but stopped. I could hear my heart shatter into a million pieces as I stared at the sight before me. Kanda was seated in the middle of the room, his fan sitting comfortably on his lap and was busy making out with him. I fought back the tears as anger filled my body, making me see red. I crossed my arms over my chest and sat in my hip glaring at the two.
"Hmph. I suppose persistence is one way to win a man's heart." The two separated and Kanda looked at me with wide eyes. "(Y/N), this isn't what it looks like-" My hands balled into fists as the anger grew too much for me to handle, the tears starting to fall. "Save it!" I shouted, slamming the door closed and running off to Lenalee's room.
