Narrator's P.O.V

(Y/N) stood over Kanda in the form of a Noah with the blade of her scythe around his neck.  He couldn't believe what he was seeing.  It all felt like another nightmare that he just wanted to wake up from.  "What...What happened to you, (Y/N)? How could you let this happen to you?"  The girl simply looked down at him with dead eyes and didn't say a word.  (Y/N) was unmoving and looked like a statue.  "It's not her fault that this happened to her, Yuu. It's you who brought the emptiness that you see in her now.  Feel proud of yourself, my friend?"  Kanda forced himself to look away from (Y/N) to see who spoke for her.

It was Alma, but he no longer looked like the child he spent his childhood with, wandering the roads in the simple village years ago.  Now that he stood above him, he looked like a mutant with half of his head riddled with stitches to keep the skin secured.  The other half of his head was full of long, unruly white hair.  Cattia was right; life really was bashing his soul in with all of this emotional trauma.   It broke Kanda's heart to see his childhood friends in such a state of madness.  Alma looked down on Kanda with a catlike grin and stroked (Y/N)'s hair.  "She was so easy to crack, Yuu. If (Y/N) hadn't changed, she'd be putting up such a huge fight and it would've been so much work to break her, but thanks to the help of you and Cattia, (Y/N) was like a porcelain doll! I'm here to thank you for your hard work! You helped out so much with the plan."  Alma clapped happily beside (Y/N) as he Lord Millineium's whole plan was explained to him.

Kanda growled in aggravation when he finally finished and his head started to hurt from trying to piece it together.  The blue-haired male looked up at the mutant who called himself his dead friend's name.  "Why are you telling me this, you sick freak? We're on opposing sides and I could easily take this information back to the generals."  Kanda hissed out, clenching his fists as he glared at him.  Alma just smirked and started to back away into the darkness of the woods, leaving (Y/N) and Kanda.  "Well, I might as well tell you, because now I leave you to the mercy of my precious friend."  With that, Alma disappeared, leaving only the echoes of his laughter to signify that he was there.  Kanda looked up at his only love, who looked down at him with dull eyes.  All of a sudden, (Y/N) raised her scythe to her side and tried to strike Kanda.

Even though he dodged the attack, Kanda's reflexes were getting significantly slower.  As he didn't move fast enough, he was rewarded with a gash in his left bicep.  He quickly rolled behind a bush to catch his breath, placing his hand on Mugen.  Kanda cursed himself and hoped it wouldn't come to that, but he needed protection from her attacks.  He took a deep breath and popped out of his hiding spot, unsheathing his sword and readying his stance and scanned around at his surroundings.  (Y/N) watched from a crouching position on a branch of a tree above him, waiting for the right moment to strike her prey.

Your P.O.V

In the darkest part of my mind, I spectated through my eyes.  I've yelled at myself countless times for losing control over my body, but nothing ever seemed to work when I tried to take that power back.  All I could do was watch as my puppet of a body jumped from the branches of a tree and strike Kanda from behind.  "No!" I cried out, collapsing to my knees and holding my head in my hands.  If only I had been more cautious on that mission.  If only I had questioned Alma's story further.  I felt so weak and helpless sitting here alone.

~Flashback~

I opened my eyes slowly, but I could barely see, as my vision was impossibly blurry.  I could hear voices, but they weren't saying coherent sentences.  I groaned loudly as a pain in my head blossomed.  I wanted to hold my head, but I couldn't use my arms.  My senses all came to me instantly when I realized I was strapped to a chair.  A dismantled boy was kneeling in front of me with his hands clasped together on my knees, smiling softly up at me.  I opened my mouth to say something, but the words got caught in my throat.  The boy tilted his head and perked up once we made eye contact.
