I smiled at him. "I would love that!"

He smiled back. "Perfect! Are you a coffee kind of boy?" He paused. "Actually how old are you?" He asked.

I realized that may have been a question we should've asked before I agreed to go out with him. "I'm 17," I said.

"Oh good. I just turned 18 two weeks ago."

"Awesome! And to answer your question I am very much a coffee drinker!" I said.

"Great! Where are your favorite places?" He asked.

"Really anywhere as long as it has caffeine." I said with a laugh.

"I can't argue with that!" He said.

I smiled. "So, do you play any sports?"

"Just one. Tennis."

(To be clear Jorge goes to school. It just hasn't started yet. This story takes place around August. Unless I said something different idk I don't feel like going back to look. But Jorge does go to school. However his father is a dick and made him walk a mile and a half to school every day. Keep that in mind.)

"That's cool."

"How about you?"

"No. I'm too small and frail for any of that stuff," I said laughing.

"It's cute. You being small I mean. The perfect size for cuddling." He said.

I laughed and looked at my hands.

Now this was a wholesome relationship I ought to be getting into.

It's later in the day and Lucas and I have been getting really close. I think I really like him.

He's in surgery right now so I'm just on my phone.

I hear a knock on the door.

I look up. It's Benji.

"Hey sweetheart," he said making me blush.

"H-Hi Benji," i said looking at my hands.

"I brought you some food from McDonald's," I don't know what you like so I just got you a bunch of stuff." He handed me three bags of food and two large drinks.

"The drinks are Coke and Water. I didn't know what you drink so I got two."

I laughed. "Thank you, but I didn't need all of this Benji!"

"Nonsense. Hospital food is gross. This is good stuff."

I laughed and opened one of the bags. It had a large fry and some type of burger in it. It was a Big Mac.

My stomach growled. I guess I was hungry. I dug into the burger stuffing my face with fries too.

In between chewing I said, "I'm getting discharged in two days."

"That's great!" He said looking at me.

I caught his eye.

He was staring at me.

"What?" I asked chuckling. "Do I have something on my face?" I asked wiping at my mouth.

"No. No. Your just. Cute." He said.

I blushed a deep red. "Ohmygod Benji stoooop."

"Nope. I won't stop." I rolled my eyes.

That's when the hospital room door opened.

The nurse was wheeling back one unconscious Lucas.

"Who's that?" Benji asked.

"My roommate. Lucas."

I looked at him. Something lit inside him. But it was gone as quickly as it came.

"Oh."

He knew something. "Oh?" I asked.

"Yeah. Oh."

I sighed. "I'm going out with him once we get out of here."

His eyes widened.

"That's....nice," he said.

"Yeah he's really nice." I said smiling towards him.

Benji and I continued talking for a little before Lucas woke up.

"So your still in school?" He asked me.

I nodded. "I'm a senior this year. We go back in like two weeks. Except now that I'm out of the house I don't know how I'll pay for school. And these hospital bills. Oh my god." I said rubbing my temples.

"Are you shitting me?" Benji said a little harshly.

I looked at him. "Sorry. Sorry. I meant to say are you dumb? I'll pay for all of that stuff." He said looking me in they eye.

"Benji I couldn't ask you to do that." I said.

"You didn't ask. I'm telling you. This is all on me."

"No Benji! I'll pay for it myself. I just need a job and-"

He covered my mouth with his hand.

I looked at him.

"Stop talking. My guys found you. In the street. With nothing what two days ago? I can decide what to do with my money. Now I barely know you but I am determined to keep you happy and get to know you better and care for you because I have failed to do that for anyone my whole entire life. So can you just let me care about you please!?" He yelled.

He took his hand off my mouth. I laughed. "Fine. But I want to pay you back somehow."

He mumbled something under his breath. "What?" I asked.

"Nothing. You don't need to pay me back at all sweetheart." He said smiling.

I nodded.

I heard a groan.

I looked over at Lucas. He was waking up.

"Hey Lucas!" I said.

"Hey Beautiful, how are you?" He asked smiling at me.

I could feel Benjis eyes on me.

"I'm good. How was your nap?" I asked laughing.

"It was good. Didn't feel a thing." He chuckled.

His eyes narrowed when he spotted Benji.

"Who's that?"

"Oh! This? T-this is B-Benji." I said.

"Like Benji Krol?" He said scoffing.

Benji stood up.

I sat up putting my hand on his chest. "Benji. No." I whispered.

"Yea. Benji Krol. What's it to you?" he snapped.

Lucas backed down. "N-nothing. I w-was just m-making sure." He said.

"That's what I thought." He mumbled so only I could hear.

"Well. I think I'm gonna head out. I'll see you tomorrow," He said nodding to me, "sweetheart." He said drawing out the word. I blushed.

Wow he was petty as fuck.

I sighed and rubbed my forehead with my fingers. "Okay see you tomorrow Benji."

He walked out without another word.

"Wow that guys a douche. Why is he here for you?" Lucas asked.

"If I'm being honest. I have no clue." I said.
