"Woah, what happened to you!?" Georgina pointed to Daniel's face. It looked better than it had before but he still had a cut on his lip, some bruises and his eye was less swollen. Daniel hung his head and scratched the back of his neck as he chuckled nervously.

"Let me guess, boy stuff." Georgina continued before taking a sip of her caramel cappuccino. We were all sat outside the cafe on a small round table, enjoying the feel of the sun on our skin. It was a nice day, nice enough for a picnic. I wondered if Daniel and I ever went on a date, or had a picnic.

"Something like that," Daniel mumbled as he stirred the spoon in his now cold hot chocolate. I focused my attention back to Georgina.

G. You called her G, the voice in my head said.

"G, we need to talk about something." Her eyes widened and she gasped in shock. Daniel was used to aspects of my old self resurfacing. He leaned back in his chair and watched quietly.  Georgina tugged the chair forward and rested her arms on the table.

"What is it?" She glanced at Daniel who gave her a blank expression.

"As far as I am aware I can only trust you and Daniel. Recently, I've regained some of my memories. I...." I struggled to find the right words. I hurt Georgina in many ways imaginable. I had no right when she was innocent. "I pretended to be someone I wasn't in order to, I don't know, search for something. For the way I acted and the way I treated you, I am sorry." I felt guilty, she didn't deserve it no matter how important my mission was. What could have been so important that I hurt those around me? What kind of person is capable of doing such things? Oh, that's right, me.

I was a horrible person and now I suffered the burdens of my past actions. Georgina's lips curled upward. Daniel straightened, feeling the wave of sadness radiating off me.

"It's oka-"

"No. It's not okay," I looked directly into her soft round eyes, "I will make this up to you." I promised. She mouthed a 'thank you' and I finally relaxed back into my chair. After the accident, I felt like I had to pretend in order to remain friends with those from the past but with Georgina, it was like making a new friend where I could be myself, the new me.

Would I ever go back to my old self? For the first time, I prayed that I didn't. I was starting to like the person I was now. Maybe I didn't have to pretend anymore. Once I figured out what the old Lana was trying to achieve then maybe, just maybe, I could have a new and better life.

However...I knew deep down it would never be the same. I wasn't the same sister or the same feisty girl that Daniel fell in love with. Maybe he's sticking by me waiting for me to return to my usual self? Out of the corner of my eye I glanced at Daniel, he was texting on his phone. I sighed, feeling once again defeated by my own thoughts. Did I always overthink?

"Lana?" Georgina snapped me out of my daze, Daniel looked up mid text and eyed me suspiciously. I waved it off.

"Sorry, I was thinking about something."

"You definitely had an agenda," she thought for a moment before sighing, "I'm drawing a blank."

"It's okay, we'll figure it out," I assured. Daniel cleared his throat, grabbing our attention. He tapped the watch on his wrist, making me aware of the time. Uh oh, I'm late. I gulped down the rest of my drink and got up.

"I need to head to my doctor's appointment. See you soon." Georgina and Daniel both waved their goodbyes while I ran off down the road. Huffing and puffing I entered the room to find Dr Hugh sat at his desk.

"Someone seems eager for their check-up." Dr Hugh chuckled deeply, amused by his own joke. I took my seat and caught my breath. After a few questions and a check-up, I was done.
