Chapter 16| a billionaire's case was given to me
During my work I received a case from a man called Leo Conner, I haven't heard this name before but my friends at work told me that he is a billionaire
"Who is that man?" I asked
"You don't know Leo Conner??" Said my friend Zoey
"No!" I answered
"He is very famous, all people subject to his will" Said Issac
"I don't care about all this bullshit, I will do what I find it right" I said
"Um, I think that you are very proud of yourself" Said Zoey
"Why are you saying that?" I asked
"She is saying that because you will also subject to him" Said Issac
"I won't!" I replied
"You will! Because of two reasons, first one is money and second one is if you did not do what he wants he will probably fire you from work" Said Zoey
"So let me see if he can fire me from work" I said
"Tell us his case" Said Issac
"Leo Conner is accused of killing a woman called Ava William, his family wants to see me tomorrow at his house" I said
"So it's a dangerous case, will you go?" Asked Zoey
"Yes, it's my work" I replied
"I don't think that he is innocent" Said Issac
"We will know tomorrow, let's continue our work" I replied
The next day I went to Leo's house, I saw his family and talked with them, Zoey and Issac were right, they can subject anyone to them
"Thank you Camila for coming, we really need you in this case" Said Leo's mom
"You don't have to thank me, that's my work and I should do it" I replied
"Well, my husband is accused of killing a woman and he is innocent, Leo is in prison now and–" Said Leo's wife
"Things will take time, can you give me the evidence of Leo's innocence?" I asked
"In fact we don't have them" Said his mom
"Mm, can you give me the evidence of his accusation?" I said
"Um, we don't know anything" Said his wife
"So we are playing a beautiful game! I don't have time to all this, you must have known that everything should be ready before I come" I told them and stood up
"Tell us how much money you want and we will prepare everything" Said the mother
"I did not come to earn money, I came because that's my work and I have to do it, if you think that I want money so I am really sorry to tell you that I can't help your son in his case" I left
I went to my work
"You look angry, what happened?" Asked Zoey
"They are really careless! They don't have the evidence of Leo's accusation or innocence!! How could I continue without any information!" I said
"They think that this is your work and you have to do it without any help, don't be sad people like them are always careless" Zoey said
"You are right, I will go to the bathroom and come back" I said
My phone rang
"Who is this?" Answered Zoey
"Camila I am Leo's mother, I want to tell you something" She said
"I am Camila's friend, she is not here now" Zoey replied
"Oh I am sorry, can you tell Camila to call me?" She said
"Sure!" Zoey said
I came back
"Leo's mother called you, she said that she wants to tell you something" Zoey said
"I think this problem will take time with me" I shrugged
"Hahaha, they can't find a better lawyer" Zoey laughed
I called her
"Camila, thank you for phoning me, can you come home again?" She said
"I am sorry but I don't want to waste my time" I said
"No everything is ready, just come" She said
"Okay, 30 minutes and I will be there" I closed the line
"Hope you do great" Zoey said
"I hope so!" I said
I went to the same address again
"Here are what you want, but we couldn't find any evidence of Leo's innocence" Said the mother
"Okay, I will go to Leo now and talk with him about this crime" I said and left
On my way to Leo, Dila phoned me
"Camila when will you come back?" She asked
"There is an important case, can you and Kevin stay with mom and dad today?" I said
"Okay, take care of yourself" She closed the line
I forgot to tell you that years passed and Dila got married last year and Kevin is her husband!
"You are Camila?" Asked Leo Conner coldly
"Yes, I want to talk with you" I said
"Sit down" He said
After a long conversation Leo Conner admitted that he killed Ava William and the reason is a disagreement in their work (about money)
"I can't defend a killer, I am really sorry you can find another lawyer" I said
"What? That's your work and you should do it! Am I wrong to tell you the truth?" He said
"My work is to stand with innocent people not killers! If I know that you really killed her I wouldn't have come to your house" I said
"You don't know me well and you will regret that you didn't help me" He said
"Unfortunately all I know about you that you love money and you can do anything to earn money, like what you did with that woman" I left
I was very angry when I went back home, I told Dila & Kevin about what happened, they supported me but Dila was worried from Leo's warning to me
"Do you think he will hurt you" Dila said
"He can't, he just said this to show that he is an important person" Replied Kevin
"Kevin is right, Leo Conner thinks that anything can be solved with money, an idiot" I said
I went to work without any problems, I have heard that Leo Conner found another lawyer but he couldn't get out of jail. I knew that he will be in prison to the rest of his life and he deserves that
