Chapter 15| I met Grace
When I went to my work I saw a woman looking at me and smiling, I did not know who is she, I glanced at her and left. I finished my work and I was going to take a taxi but I saw that woman again, she was not smiling she just looked at me and left, I did not understand why she was looking at me like this so I took a taxi and went home
"Camila, someone sent this letter" Dila said
"Letter? Who sent it?" I asked
"I don't know, someone rang the bell, when I opened the door a woman left quickly and I saw this letter was put on the floor" She explained
"Okay give me it" I took the letter from Dila
"Take it, I did not read it" She replied
I started reading it
“To Camila
Hey Camila! I really miss you so much, I tried to call you many times but you did not answer, I think that you have changed your phone number, well I knew that you became lawyer and I am really happy for you!! I wish you remember me, I will go to see you today at your work hope you know who I am, I wrote my number here if you wanted me.
From your friend”
I finished reading the letter but I did not recognize who is she, I had many friends and I don't know which one she is
"Did you know her?" Dila entered my room
"Not yet, she says that she is my friend" I replied
"What will you do?" Dila asked
"I don't know but I saw a woman today and I think she is the same person who wrote this letter"
"Really? Did she say anything about herself?"
"She wrote her mobile number"
"So why are you waiting, call her!"
I called this number
"Who is talking?" A woman's voice answered
"Um, actually I am Camila, you wrote your number in the letter you sent" I said
"Camila! Oh you did not know me?" She asked
"Not yet" I said laughingly
"Can I see you tomorrow at your work?" She said
"Sure! You know the address?" I asked
"Of course, I came––" She did not continue
"Okay, see you" I closed the line
"What did she say?" Dila asked
"Nothing new, but I know this voice very well, she said that she will see me tomorrow at my work" I said
"She knows the address! So she is the same woman who came to you today!"
"Yeah you are right! I am really trying to remember her!!"
"Don't worry you will know her tomorrow, you must be tired go and sleep"
I tried many times to recognize her but I couldn't, I would be very sad if she was very close to me and I couldn't know her
The next day I went to my work as usual but I did not see that woman, when I finished my work I saw her waiting for me outside, she was looking at me and smiling again
"I have seen this face before!!" I said to myself
"Camila, I will be sad if you did not recognize me" She said
"I am trying, but I know your face well" I was looking at her
She was silent for a while
"Oh my God you are Grace!!! You are Grace right???"
"Yeah!!! How did not you know me!!!"
I hugged her
"You are not wearing a wig?? I couldn't notice you because you are not wearing it!"
"Thanks God my hair stopped falling, I took some meds and I am fine now!"
"Let's go to a cafe! I must spend the whole day with you!!"
We went to a near cafe and started talking
"Tell me, how is your life going?"
"I am facing a lot of problems but I am trying to come over them by working, what's your job?"
"I am working as a journalist"
"Congrats!!!"
"Thanks! Camila, I have heard about Noah's problem and I am really sorry for that"
"Yeah, it is making us all upset"
"But he is getting better right?"
"A little bit, he is in an addiction treatment clinic, he studied there and he entered faculty of hospitality industry, but he can't go to university so he doesn't work"
"I am sure his life will be better very soon! You must support your parents they need you the most"
"Yeah, you are right"
My phone rang
"Dila, is everything ok?"
"Yeah, why are you late? I am waiting for you from a long"
"I am with my childhood friend Grace! I will come after half an hour don't worry"
"Okay, enjoy your time"
"Who is Dila?" Grace asked
"Oh, she is my younger sister! You both don't know each other!" I smiled
"I don't know a lot about you!! Since primary school we did not talk again"
"Yeah! You really were missed Grace! It's difficult to find someone like you!"
"You too! You are the best friend I had!"
"You must come to my home like we used to do!"
"But you are busy and I don't want to be a burden on you and your family"
"What are you saying! Your presence will make us happier"
We went to my house
"Dila, this my friend Grace! You don't know her because you weren't born yet" I laughed
"Nice to meet you Grace!!" Dila said
"Nice to meet you too Dila! I have two sisters now!" She said
"Haha, let's enjoy our day!" I said
"But what about aunt Kate and uncle Louis?" Grace asked
"Don't worry, they will spend the day with Noah and come back in the afternoon" Dila replied
We really enjoyed our day with Grace, her presence made us glad, in fact I needed someone to make Dila happy because she was upset from Noah's health
"Childhood friends will always be the best!" I said
