Hey, I'm not dead! I'm so sorry that I haven't posted anything. Anyway, one or two more chapter(s) to go and then the story will be finished! Yay!!!
(Y/n)'s pov.
At the dawn of a new day all of us managed to reach the Red sea. We stopped to both take a break and admire it's beauty. I was standing near the front, looking out at the sea and breathing in the salty air.
But after a while I heard someone blow into a horn. I turned to the sound and I could faintly see a thing on top of the mountain that we had crossed.
"What the...." My voice then quieted and my eyes widened as I realised what that figure was. ".......oh no"
Rameses, no! What are you doing?
I then saw that behind the figure a sea of simular figures emerged behind him. Rameses had brought an army with him. And if noone is going to do something, then the hebrews will die. We will die.
I then heard Rameses' battle cry, so loud, so clear. I don't believe I've felt this afraid in my life. Only once - on the night I was nearly assassinated in my bedchambers.
After the Pharaoh's shout many others followed from the other soldiers as they all rode down the hill towards us in their warrior chariots.
"Everyone!" I shouted as loud as I could. "Move towards the sea! Quickly!"
Then everyone started panicing. People started pulling their wagons forward, mothers grabbed their children, others ran, and the ones nearest to Moses looked at him desperately. I started cutting through the crowd as I tried to make my way near the front, and when I did the sky darkened with dark storm clouds in seconds.
Thunder rumbled the sky as many looked in fear at what was about to happen. I too was afraid.
There is no way out. I thought as I looked araound and judged my options. If we stay, Rameses and his soldiers will slaughter us. If we go too close to the raging sea, we will be pulled in and drown.
But then something happened. Something amazing and frightening at the same time - a pillar of fire rose from the sea and into the sky which then transfered to where Rameses was, blocking his path.
The hebrews then looked at me and Moses. I looked at Moses and saw his frightened face turn into one of determination as he faced the sea with his wooden staff in his coloused hands.
He then went into the sea up to his knees. I wanted to rush to him, but then I heard God's voice and understood.
With this staff you shall do my wonders!
And just as God said those words Moses slammed his staff in the water and on the earth which made the sea part for us. Many of the hebrews shouted in fear and stepped back, but I stood firmly. Even though the sight of the sea parting frightened me to death, I still truster God and what he is doing.
So I stepped foreward. I stepped becide him and after momentarily looking at him, I turned to the hebrews, nodded at them encouregingly and started walking on the path. The large mass of hebrews then started following my lead as I still stood in front of them all. Moses came becide me and I turned to him.
"Go to the back." I said to him gently. "Someone might need your help there. I shall lead them to land."
He then nodded at me and did as I said. I quickened my pace, but still was careful enough to not fall down the sharp rocks and the strong wind. I turned back and started helping people get safely down from the rocks, many strong men then joining me.
After a while we started to light up torches to see in the dark. A few more minutes later I saw the sea part and I saw land.
"Everyone!" I shouted. "We have come to land! We will all soon have crossed the Red Sea."
I again helped people get safely up on the sandy shore and once almost everyone was out of the sea, I noticed that the sky didn't have the slight firery hue to it. The pillar of fire had disappeared.
"Get to the shore now!" I yelled desperately. "The soldiers are coming!"
After my warning people started to rush onto the shore and noticed that Moses was the last one.
"Moses!" I yelled as I ran towards him at a safe distance and extended my hand out to him to help him climb on the rocks. he took it and with all of my strenght pulled him up and we ran out on the shore.
We barely made it out when the walls of water collapsed and the soldiers were washed away.
Noone's pov.
Once Rameses was thrown of the opposite shore by the massive wave, he yelled out in defeat.
As all of the hebrews were celabrating that they had survived from the wrath of the Pharaoh, (Y/n) looked out sadly at the sea towards were Egypt should be.
Goodbye Rameses. The girl thought as a single tear rolled down her cheek. May you find peace in the future elsewhere.
Goodbye brother. Rameses thought as he sobbed angerly on the shores of Egypt. And goodbye (Y/n). I shall always love you. More than anything in this life.
