(Y/n)'s pov.

I cauteously walked towards the throne with my arms on Amun's shoulder as I gently guided him. I my way towards the throne, I noticed that some of the egyption servants closed the blinds to the humangous palace windows, which were only really big holes in the wall.

And with that the preists preformed their answer.

The crowd cheered as the two high priests ended their performance. I locked eyes with Moses and I knew that Moses wasn't going to give in to their demands.

I then felt a small tap on my arm and looked at the Pharaoh.

"Watch over my son, will you?" he said in a hushed voice as he then stood up and moved with Moses to the sideroom, where almost twenty years ago both of them were scolded by Pharaoh Seti.

I looked around and saw that Amun was playing with some of the children who were brought to the party, and saw my four maids in a corner near where the young prince was playing. I ran up to them and they immediantely saw me.

"I'm so sorry to interrupt you all," I said in a hushed voice. "but I need you to-"

"Don't worry, (Y/n)." Safiya said.

"We'll watch over Amun." Rana said.

"Now go." Khepri said as she gently placed her hands on my shoulders.

"Thank you," I looked at them greatfully. "all of you."

I then quickly rushed past people to one of the corridoors where one of the rooms side doors were. But I didn't hear what one of my maids said to me, just below a whisper, speaking for all of my maids.

"Deliver us to our promised land, (Y/n)." Chione said.

I managed to get to the side door which was left slightly open and I watched and listened to the two men's conversation.

"All right Moses, I know you." I heard Rameses chuckle and watched as he took off his head dress. "What's this really about?"

Exactly like in my prophetic dream. I thought.

I saw that Moses moved towards the window and, even though I couldn't see from where I was, I knew what the view outside looked like.

"Rameses, look." Moses then pointed outside of the window. "What do you see?"

"A greater Egypt than that of my father."

"That is not what I see." Moses said at the same time I thought this.

I then saw Rameses going to his throne and dropping the headress on to the armrest while he himself slumped in the seat of the throne.

"Moses I can not change what you see." The Pharaoh said. "I have to maintain the ancient traditions. I bear the weight of my Father's crown."

"Do you still not understand what Seti was?" I saw Moses ask in disbelief.

Rameses sat up more straightly on the throne and I could see the almost exact image inside the room and outside where the uselessly large statue of Pharaoh Seti was. "He was a great leader."

"His hands bore the blood of thousands of children!" Moses said incredulous.

I gasped in my mind and covored my mouth in shock.

So that's why..... so many years ago.....the guards...they..they.....But why? Why would Rameses' father do this? What was his gain?

"Slaves." I heard Rameses replie as if it was of no matter.

My eyebrows furrowed in anger at his words. I suddenly heard footsteps coming near and I hid behind one of the large collumbs near the entrance. I saw a couple of egyptian nobles passing, but I still paid some attention to the conversation inside the throne room.

"My people!" I heard Moses raise his voice slightly. "And I can no longer hide in the desert while they suffer.... at your hands."

"So you have returned..." I thought at the same time as Rameses said this. My eyes softened and my previous scowl turned into a frown. "....only to free them."

"I'm sorry." I heard Moses quietly say as a soft clanking followed like a small object being dropped.

I thought that that was it and Rameses would soon come and look for me and his son so I slipped away like a shadow and quietly entered the ballroom where the banquet was still in full swing. I looked around desperately trying to find Amun and my maids, and soon enough I saw them near the palace balcony.

I pushed past all of the guests and apolegised to them. I made it to them and Khepri was first to notice me.

"Oh, (Y/n). You're back." she said cheerfully.

"(Y/n), (Y/n)! Look! It's so beautiful outside!" Amun tugged on my dress merrily as he pointed at the starting sunset.

I looked at the small boy and then at the sunset to which he was pointing at and smiled at him, relaxing.

"It truely is beautiful." I said as I stepped closer to the young prince.

If only I had known what was about to come.
