(Y/n)'s pov.

Moses had gone out a few minutes ago. I had stopped crying by now and with the help of Miriam and Tzipporah went into the night to comfort as many citizens as possible.

Right now I was sitting on the steps to a house with a woman crying on my shoulder like I had moments ago. She had lost her first born child, leaving her with her second born son. The boy clung to my dress and cried as well but not as heavily as his mother.

I tried to offer kind words to her. I asked if there was anything I could help to ease the pain or to lighten the situation.

And she said there was nothing that could be done. That fact broke me. The feeling of helplessness, the feeling that eats at your soul when you know you can't help is what tore me apart like a sheet of paper.

I could never imagine the pain she must feel. I could be considered close since I saw amun as my own son. But to lose your own flesh and blood.....

.....

....

....That was something I could never imagine.

~~~meanwhile~~~
Noone's pov.
Rameses slowly carried his now dead son's body to the altar. His worst fears had come true - he was powerless, he lost his son like he did with his wife, and now he found out he lost the closest person to him, (Y/n).
Rameses gently laid down the body and covered it with a white silk like sheet. The Pharaoh's body hunched over his son's body as if to shield it, completely stricen by grief, sorrow and regret.
Behind Rameses Moses stood there, watching the scene of lament if front of him with sorrow.
There was thick silence in the room exept for the distant cries in the city. The silence was broken when the Pharaoh of Egypt chocked out the words:
"......you and your people.....have my permission to go."
Moses streched out his hand to comfort his brother when he needs it the most, but when his hand came in contact with Rameses' shoulder, the latter recoiled as if bitten by a snake.
"Leave me!" Rameses said enraged.
Moses draws back his hand and then with a sorrowful expresion made his way out of the palace, completely unaware of Rameses' hateful stare.
You, Moses, had taken everything from me. And so has your 'God'. Rameses thought. You took away my kingdom, my power, my legacy, my SON! And now.... you have taken (Y/n)......
Be prepared, Moses. Rameses thought as he stormed out of the room to collect the last remaining bits of his army that was still loyal to him. For I will unleash my wrath. And I will take back what's rightfully mine. And (Y/n) will stand with me to watch as you perish.
