(Y/n)'s pov.
"Last night, the Gods granted me a vision. I'm not merely going to restore this temple, I will make it more grand, more splendid than any other one in Egypt." Rameses said as he laid out the plans for construction in front of us.
He asked me to accompany him today for his first day of work and, after gaining the permission from the Queen, I went with him. I was still thinking about that dream I had this morning. Was it a sign from the Gods?
"Get up!"I heard someone say and not even a second later a whip hitting someone's back.
I looked around us and saw the disgusting sight of many hebrew slaves working on the new construction. Among the crowd I saw Moses looking around...like I did?
"What do you think, (Y/n)?" I heard Rameses ask and then turned back to him, finding the prince looking at me expectingly.
"Forgive me, but I wasn't listening." I appolegised and bowed my head. "Can you repeat that?"
"What do you think of the plans?" he asked.
I then made my way becide him and looked at the plans.
"If you want to truly have it able to stnad all of it's weight from the base, I suggest," I then pointed at the part that needed to be fixed in the plans. "that you do not put so much decor in the roof design. It would be much easier and becides, no one will truly see the designs if it was so high up."
Rameses then hummed in thought. "You're right, (Y/n). Noone will see them. Very well, prehaps we do need to tone down the decor on the roof."
I then mentally cheered, because that meant that the slaves would have less work to do.
"Moses! Look." I only then noticed that the eldest prince went to talk to his younger brother who seemed dazed."Fate has turned our little misadventure into a great opportunity."
"Get up, old man!" I heard a stern voice say and looked up to see a guard yelling at an old man. "Put your back into it!"
"Faster!" I then saw the old man cowering in fear and then I looked at Miriam and Aaron who were working nearby.
Me and the hebrew girl made eyecontact. Even with the distance I could tell that she wanted me or her to do something, to stop this. But I couldn't, so I broke the eyecontact and shamefully looked at the golden sand on the floor, listening to the sounds of a whip hitting skin.
"This is just the beginning. A gateway will open to an entire new city of white limestone, more dazzling than the sun. And here, a statue of Hapi." I heard Rameses say and turned to see him revealing his plans for his dazed brother.
I could still hear the whip cracking in the hot southern wind. " ... two great column halls."
"Stop it! Somebody's got to stop this!" I heard Miriam yell out and me and Moses turned to look up on the wooden platforms where many hebrews seemingly stopped working to witness the comotion.
"There's nothing we can do." I faintly heard Aaron's slightly deep voice say to his beloved sister as he held her arm to prevent her from stopping the guard herself.
"Stop it." I heard Moses mumble and saw him walking towards the stairs of the platform.
"Stop. Stop it! Leave that man alone!" Moses' voice grew louder as well as his speed as he ran up the stairs, me soon running behind him to the stairs.
"Moses don't!" I yelled out.
And then by accident... when Moses showed the guard off of the elderly man, he fell from the platform and dropped in a wooden construction, completly breaking it.
