(Y/n)'s pov.
I walked through the almost deserted city, a few hebrews looking my way every now and then, but I paid them no mind. I had to find Moses.
Soon enough I came in front of an old house and I knew - this is the one.
And so I knocked on the wooden door. It soon enough opened and revealed Moses himself.
"Moses," I said. "I've come to help."

"Take a lamb," Moses recited God's words. "and with it's blood..."
"...mark the lentils and posts of every door." I spoke what the God had told me and Moses a few moments ago. My white linin dress came in contact with the ashes on the ground and my hair still poked out of my red hijab.
"For tonight," Moses said as he watched the hebrews covering their doorposts with a lamb's blood. "I shall pass through the land of Egypt..."
"...and smite all the first born." I said with guilt. Amun, please forgive your father for what he has done to you. And may your soul rest peacefully in the next life.
"But when I see the blood upon your door," Moses said calmly. " I will pass over you."
"And the plague shall not enter." I finished as Miriam and Tzipporah were looking at me and Moses, and said man then closed the blinds of a window in the house.
He then retreated from the window and sat becide all of us. Aaron sat becide his sister, Tzipporah at her husband's side and me on his other side becides Miriam. All of us sat in silence, waiting for the pleague to pass. I then feel a hand on my own hand and I jumped slightly, but then i saw that it was Miriam.
"Thank you, (Y/n)." Miriam said with a gentle smile.
"For what?" I asked.
"For everything you have done for us." she said as she remembered all the times I went into town to help the hebrews, even if the help was so little. "And I can only imagine how much bravery it takes to stand up against someone you've held so dearly and close to your heart."
"I only wish the consequences wouldn't be as severe." I said sadly and then all of the people in the room looked at me.
"(Y/n)," Moses said with his calming voice, "you know that-"
"-that Rameses brought this upon himself, I know." I said. "I just wish he wasn't so blind. "
Tzipporah went to say something but was cut off when we heard rattling at the door and saw a white light under the door. But after a few seconds it passed and the light went away, only leaving darkness on the other side of the door.
"Has the plague passed." Aaron asked me and Moses.
"Not yet." I replied.
"It has passed our house," Moses said. "but it hasn't passed through the whole Egypt yet."
And so once again we sat in silence. After a few moments that almost felt like hours a cry sounded in Egypt, with several more following. I stood up to go to the Palace to comfort Rameses, but Moses stopped me by placing a hand on my shoulder.
"Stay with them, (Y/n)." Moses said gently. "I'll go speak with my brother."
I wanted to say something back, but a huge lump in my throught stopped any words from passing by my lips. So I just nodded and wrapped my arms around my body.
Moses then left the house and i crumbled to the floor as silent sobs escaped painfully. Tzipporah immediantely rushed to my side and hugged me on the floor and I leaned into her, still sobbing as tears streamed down my cheeks.
Tonight there was a great cry in all of Egypt. A cry that broke many hearts. But with great suffering comes a greater peace.
Only that the suffering was not over yet.
