Peter couldn't stop the tears that kept falling onto his cheeks. The moment he heard Pepper's sobs, he knew it was over. They had won the battle but this was the cost. Peter felt Rhodey patting his shoulder and although he didn't say anything, Peter knew that he was shedding his own tears. The Avengers had gathered around Tony and Pepper's cries could be heard by everybody. This was her worst fear, this is the very reason why she wanted Tony to stop being Iron Man. But here he was, dying as Iron Man himself. The moment his arc reactor shut down, Pepper felt like the whole world had fallen onto her shoulders.

"This isn't fair," Bruce whimpered as he wiped his own tears, "This isn't fair! First it was Nat and now Tony."

Peter was shocked to know that Natasha died. He had no idea how it happened and how she sacrificed herself but it only caused him to cry harder until he started sobbing just as Pepper did. Peter was livid. The last time he cried this hard was when Uncle Ben died and he never wanted it to happen again but here he was, mourning over Tony Stark who he just hugged tightly minutes ago after he came back from the soul world.

"He did it for you, Queens," A familiar voice said causing Peter to look up and see Captain America himself standing beside him, his face all dirty from the soot and dirt, his lip busted and cheeks all blotchy from his tears.

"What do you mean?" Peter asked, his voice breaking as he looked back at Pepper who gently closed Tony's eyes before putting her head against his chest.

"He did it for everyone but... I'm sure he did it so he could bring you back," Steve answered and looked down at the crying 15-year-old, "The first words he told me when he got back to Earth after what Thanos did was that he lost you. He lost the kid. He was truly affected when you went away."

Peter closed his eyes and tried his hardest to stop his lip from trembling but he failed. He already considered Tony as one of the most important people in his life, he looked at Tony as some sort of father figure after what had happen to his Uncle Ben. He wanted nothing more but to catch up with him and to spend more time with him after the battle but plan's changed.

"They died so easily," Peter whispered to himself even though Steve heard him perfectly, "They didn't deserve that."

Peter was shocked to hear the words that left his mouth but Steve couldn't blame him. The kid was angry and heartbroken and although he knew that Peter never meant to be that harsh, he chose to say nothing knowing it was a way for the kid to let his feelings out. After what seemed to be a few more minutes of silence and crying, Pepper finally let Steve carry Tony's lifeless body away from all the debris and chaos. Peter silently walked with the whole team, his head hung low as his train of thoughts lead him somewhere when he heard Steve shouting from the distance. Peter furrowed his eyebrows in confusion and soon jogged over to Steve, following Pepper before stopping in front of him.

"What's wro-- Oh my God." Pepper looked at Tony's body in shock causing Peter to look at them confusingly. When his eyes landed on Tony's body, Peter felt the air getting knocked out of him.

His arc reactor is slowly blinking.
