It was time to get more plums from the market. Bucky gathered his backpack and began his routine walk to the markets.

He finally got there and greeted the old lady named Alexandra with a friendly good morning as he always did. He looked around wondering if he should get any other fruits, but he wasn't sure.

"Are the plums and blueberries any good?"

He turned around to notice a woman looking at him. He normally had a hard time talking to people, but he felt like she was someone he could trust.

"I really like the plums, but I've never tried the blueberries"  He smiled as he picked up some plums.

"Oh alright. Well how about I get some blueberries, and we can share down at the park."

"I... I guess so." He had already paid for his plums.

He was very confused when the lady asked for her blueberries and plums in English, and Alexandra seemed to understand her. It didn't make sense because Alexandra only knew Romanian. The first time he tried to talk to her in English, she looked very confused.

When she got the fruit, she took Bucky's hand and began to lead them to the park. She held his hand gently, and he found this to be the first time someone had held him nicely.

She sat them down on a bench and sat cross legged. Then her eyes widened.

"Oh my goodness. I should introduce myself. I'm y/n l/n."

"I'm Bucky Barnes. I'm pretty sure I am."

"Bucky. I really like that name. I've never heard that name before, and I've been lots of places." She smiled letting go of his hand so she could get the container that had the blueberries.

He almost wanted her to keep holding his hand. She gave him a slice, and they both tried the blueberries together.

"This is delicious. I've been going there for almost a year, and I've never tried the blueberries." Bucky laughed.

"The blueberries are really tasty." She smiled as she got another handful of the fruit. "You know, when we met you seemed unsure of your name."

Bucky nodded, and he felt like he could trust her with his story. "Yeah. That's it. I only remember bits and pieces of my life. I think I lived a long time ago in the forties and was in the army fighting during world war two. I think that's how I'm still here today. If I hadn't signed up maybe my life would've been a bit more normal."

She took his hand again and squeezed it. "Oh Bucky... I'm so sorry that all of this happened to you. You are so very brave and so very strong."

Bucky let her words sink in, and he smiled at her kindness.

They finished the blueberries, and she held his hand for some time before letting go. Bucky still wanted to know about how she spoke to Alexandra.

"Thanks for sharing. Y/n... Can I ask you a question?"

She nodded her head since her mouth was full of the last bit of blueberries.

"How did you talk to Alexandra in English? She only knows Romanian."

Her eyes widened as she finished her fruit. "Your primary language must be English. Is it?"

He nodded, and she sighed. "Crap. He's going to be disappointed."

"Who?"

She took a deep breath and looked down. "You probably won't believe me. No one does when the Doctor isn't around."

"The Dr? Are you sick?"

"No. Look the way I was able to talk to her was with the help of the TARDIS. Oh dear, I've probably said to much, and you probably think I'm crazy."

She got up and threw her trash away holding onto her plums. She was about to walk away when he grabbed onto her arm. She turned to look at him, and she stared into his eyes.

"I've seen a lot of crazy things. You can tell me." He whispered trying to get her to believe him.

"Y/n it's time to go."

The both turned to see the doctor across the street smiling and waving. She looked back to Bucky and frowned.

"I really have to go."

She ran to the street but wasn't paying attention. She almost would've gotten run over if Bucky hadn't saved her. She looked into his eyes again as he lifted her up.

He didn't let her go for some time until he heard the other man call her again. She finally broke her gaze and looked down.

"Thank you for saving me. I promise we'll meet again, and when we meet, I'll tell you everything."

She gently pulled away and actually looked before crossing the street. Bucky watched the man wrap an arm around her shoulder.

Bucky grew nervous when they both walked down an alley. He began to run in their direction. When he made it to the alleyway, he heard a weird noise and a flash of light.

He went into the alleyway, and they both were gone. There was no trace of the man or y/n. Was she even real, or was he making it all up?

I hope you all enjoyed that. Of course time travel is weird, so this is actually the first part of the story. It's their first meeting. Then, the next one would be the first in this series where they meet in the fourties. The next is the second in the series where she hasn't met him yet. I hope that all makes sense.

I think that the next part of this will be the final part in this series. It will also order wise, be the last as well.

I hope you all enjoyed. Thanks for reading Bucky's plums.
