The Hunger

NOTE: My first macabre/gothic poem.

A tasteless tongue

lapped a man.

Crispy skin and bones,

juicy meat and fats;

all its pleads, cries and crimes.

Some hollowed stomach

devoured a soul.

A banquet of charity,

a feast on sanity;

all its dreams, pride and woes.

A pit on a belly

swallowed a God.

A dish of humanity,

a slice of morality;

all its thoughts, faith and wrath.

They ate it all -

every crumbs, grains and sauce.

The tongue numbed,

the stomach burped

but they were never full.
