Tasting my own medicine.

"Bekayali"  played in the background somewhere outside of the office. anika sitting on the chair and lost in thought. the anika whom we know is a completely different person now or in medical terms, she's now a patient of depression. thousands of questions ran inside her head but there's none to answer it and release her from the prison. her chain of thoughts was disturbed by a door knocking sound.

"excuse me... ma'am" - her P.A entered the room.

"yes... anything important?" - she asked him in a cold tone.

"Ma'am ... a lady named Mallika came here to see you" - he informed. for a second, anika forgets about her best friend where their friendship inherited to their children ansh and nisha. anika met Mallika when she moved into Bangalore with 2 years old ansh. she was her neighbor. when nisha's father got his transfer before one year she has to go with her husband leaving her best friend alone here. she immediately rushed to India when she came to know about anika's parent's death. but unfortunately, inspite of being there before her, she avoided her. she becomes heartbroken but never gave up. she keeps on calling her but she no response from her. out of frustration, she reached her office today.

"tell her i am busy in a meeting" - she asked her P.A to lie her. but unfortunately, her try had gone in vain when Mallika rushed inside her cabin and confronted her. 

"can i speak with you for a minute, ma'am?" - she asked her in an angry tone. without no other option left she asked her P.A  to go out. he went. she heavily signed and sat comfortably on the chair and gestured her to take the seat.

"oh... yeah... thank you" - she sarcastically said and took the seat. 

"by the way, my name is Mallika... i was called as your best friend once... remember..." - Mallika asked her in a serious tone. she got no response from her, neither she reacted nor she gazes off her vision from her.

"i am asking you something" - Mallika hit the table which made her jerk in shock.

ansh... there's notification in your school site... "students who're applying for T.C, today is the last day to apply" ... - nisha read it from his phone.

what? today? how can we get it? so soon? - ansh asked her.

relax... guys... we will plan... let's do one thing... we will leave to Bangalore now itself... it will take maximum duration of travel 3 hours to reach Bangalore. get ready to leave... - shivaay said a plan where everyone including nisha went to get ready. shivaay went to his house to change.

nisha texted her mom, "mom... me, ansh and shivaay uncle leaving for Bangalore to apply for ansh's T.C"

mallika's phone beeped, she opened it and saw her daughter's SMS and rested her phone back in her bag. she turned back again towards anika where she can't able to find any trace of pain in her face, she remained numb. 

anika... you're testing my patience... tell me what happened to you? why are you ignoring everyone? you didn't even come to your home for the past week... - Mallika started to blabber. nothing went inside anika's mind.

i am asking you something... i already told you, Ms. Rao, ignorance will not be a solution for anything.  - words came from her mouth out of her disappointment on seeing her like this. anika didn't speak anything. 

ma'am ... we are getting late for the meeting...- her P.A informed her where she immediately stood up without even caring about Mallika who came there to meet her. Mallika felt devasted on seeing her ignorance, her heart ached, but then too she controlled her feelings and looked her with bloodshot eyes.
