XI: Blinded

18 3 1

Through my eyes I see darkness,
Through my soul I see chains,
Through my chest I see a wound,
A wound perhaps meant to be fate.

I twist and shout in agony's date,
And lose myself to pain and trickery,
Told to live at least to seventy
And I'm dead to fate at youth's gate,

Where will I go,
It's not for today.
Where will I live,
It's not for today.
But why,
Why do I fall this night?
Escape the chains to chains of another?
Why do I look surprised,
That born to a mother and father,
Die to go back to my mother and father...

Is fate rewarding?
Why today?
Why not tomorrow?

Why has it got to be me!

I lived my life devoted to you,
Believing in your book as if it was true
So why?
Why me?

I grew up in love and in love for another,
For all around me, they were all my brothers,
Chains taken by myself willingly,
Never to be unchained from the trinity,

I lived until it brought me down,
Are heaven's angels coming for me?
Or are these just lights flashing,
I'm blind until I see...
