Nora's POV- July 2019

My eyes fluttered open just as I felt Chris' light pepper kisses against my jaw.

"Morning"

"More like afternoon" I mumbled.

He chuckled.

"You might be right"

I stretched my arm out and grabbed the closest phone on the nightstand to see it was almost noon.

"How long have you been up?" I asked.

"Not long"

He sat up and groaned as his back popped a bit when he stretched.

"Do you think mom and Noel left already?"

They weren't gone, gone yet, but they were gone for the day.

"Most likely" I answered.

"You have a great relationship with my mom and Noel"

"They're the best" I stated.

I would have gone mad if it hadn't been for them being here and helping with Chris. My parents were there for me, but this whole situation wasn't about me. Mom, Dad, Josie, Ella, and Theo were my support system; Mary and Noel were Chris'.

"Let's get you something to eat," I told him when his stomach growled.

"I'm not the only one who needs to eat"

I got out of bed and stretched my arms up over my head.

"What do you want to eat?" I asked.

I turned to Chris when he sighed.

"You, but waffles will do"

I rolled my eyes and made my way out of the room.

"I'm going to go wake James up" I told him.

Luckily, there was no need to wake him since he was exiting the bathroom.

"Hey" I greeted.

He looked up and offered me a small smile.

"Morning"

"I'm going to whip up a quick brunch, are waffles and egg bites okay?" I asked.

"Yeah, I can help"

What a sweetheart.

"You can put water in the kettle," I said.

"Okay, I can do that"

I squeezed his shoulder before making my way into the bathroom. Once I did my business, I washed my hands and then decided to comb my hair. After that, I went back into the room to change. While I changed, Chris went to the bathroom so we bumped into each other as we both exited the respective rooms. James glanced up from his phone as we entered the kitchen. As I opened the fridge door, Chris spoke up.

"Hey man, I'm Chris"

I glanced at them just as they shook hands.

"James, nice to meet you"

I grabbed what I needed and set everything on the countertop.

"Are you an ice skater too?"

James shook his head.

"No, I never really played sports growing up"

There was little money growing up.

"Have you watched any clips of Ella and Theo's routines?"
