Chris' POV- July 2019
"How are you feeling?"

Before I could answer that question, a bright light was shined on both my eyes.

"Sluggish" I admitted.

Everything hurt; my throat felt like it was on fire, my body felt heavy, and my head was pounding.

"Why does my tongue hurt?" I asked.

I knew why my throat hurt, but I had no idea why my tongue was swollen.

"We will get there, I just need to ask you a couple of questions"

I slowly nodded and looked at my mom when she squeezed my hand. My little sister, Noel had gone outside to make a phone call when the doctor arrived.

"Can you tell me your full name?"

"Christopher Armand Taylor" I answered.

It was a mouthful and the swollen tongue certainly did not help.

"And your date of birth?"

"August 29, 1990" I replied.

"Where do you live?"

"That depends" I stated.

"Most of the year?"

"Los Angeles" I responded.

I lived in Virginia Beach during the Off Season.

"Can you tell me your age?"

"I'm 26," I said.

He glanced down at the tablet he was holding.

"What year is it, Chris?"

"2017," I told him.

He slowly nodded.

"Who is the president?"

"Don't make me say it" I replied.

He smiled and glanced down at the tablet.

"What's the last date you remember?"

"June 25th" I replied.

He did not seem fazed by my answer, however, the two residents behind him did.

"What's today's date?" I asked.

Before they could answer my question, I turned to the whiteboard across my bed to see the latest date. No...someone was punking me...this could not be true because if the date on the board was correct then it meant I was not remembering nearly 2 years of my life.

"Let's start from the very beginning"

Okay.

"You took a pitch to your right cheekbone a couple of days ago"

Well, that explains the ache on the right side of my face.

"And were diagnosed with a grade 2 concussion shortly after"
