They thought they were talking in hushed tones but I could hear them, deliberating on what to do with us.

It was kinda of annoying that they were speaking about us, as if we weren't even there.

Our mother didn't have any immediate family they could contact, so they were discussing about putting us both in an orphanage.

It didn't take long for them to complete the process and we were shipped off to St Anna orphanage.

During the drive, my little sister was peacefully tranquil. Innocent to the tragedy that transpired, there I vowed to keep her safe.

Living in the orphanage was a different kind of experience, the nuns were pretty strict but it was rather a welcomed change for me.

We were taught things like the alphabet and how to count to a 1000.

The nuns tend to say that I was a very smart kid, but nothing made me more happy than seeing my little sisters smile.

You could say that I imprinted on my little sister, because of the seemingly new obsession I had of her.

She was said to be a crybaby, but she didn't cry when she was with me. Rather it was all smiles and giggles.
