20 - A Walk with Jisoo

Jisoo dragged Lisa to the park to walk with Dalgom, her dog. She notices how Lisa looked distracted and kept looking at her phone.

"Limario stop looking at your phone. Jennie won't reply for sure."

"Huh?"

"You're asking Jennie about Chaeyoung right? They're gonna be okay don't worry about it. She knows Chaeyoung better than the both of us. She'd know how to cheer her up. Also, you've practically abandoned me your bestfriend. You spend so much time with Chaeyoung you don't even bother hanging out with me." Jisoo says pouting.

"Hey that's not true. Just a few days ago I accompanied you to that new chicken place you wanted to try and the day before that we went to the bookstore you love."

"Isn't that because either I ask you to hangout with me or because you're too bored cause Chaeyoung is busy and can't be with you?"

"I, uhh." Lisa can't answer properly. It was true that she only hung out with Jisoo or Jennie alone when Chaeyoung wasn't there. Her mind was always filled with thoughts of Chaeyoung and she wanted to spend most of her time with the girl.

"It's okay Lisa. I understand how it feels to be in love, you want to spend every waking minute with her right?"

Lisa's eyes widen and she couldn't give out a proper response. Jisoo chuckles at Lisa and Dalgom seemed to understand. He looked at the two humans and smiled at them.

"You're my bestfriend Lisa. I know the look you give when you're in love. You look at her the same way you looked at Seojun, maybe even more. Your eyes sparkled like the brightest of stars." Jisoo says smiling.

"Is it that obvious?" Lisa asks.

Jisoo shakes her head no.

"Other people won't notice but in the eyes of those close to you then we have definitely noticed."

"So you and Jennie?"

"Yeah, I'm sure Bambam would notice too if he sees you."

"He knows, I told him when we were at the beach but he only knows I like her."

"You've liked her that long?"

"I don't really know Jisoo. I used to think love at first sight wasn't real but the moment I laid my eyes on Chaeng it felt different. I can't explain it in words because I'm still confused how it's possible but there was something about her that had drawn me in and I have not stopped thinking about her since then. I've only recently realized I was in love with her but I realized I liked her a lot five days after I met her."

Jisoo smiles teasingly at Lisa and the girl couldn't help but blush.

"My Limario is such a big girl now! I think I could cry."

"You're okay with me liking her?" Lisa asks nervously and Jisoo nods.

"Love is love. I don't care what anyone says. I'm just happy you're happy again."

"Thank Jisoo." Lisa says smiling.

Lisa takes Jisoo to her favorite chicken place and Jisoo ordered chicken good for 5 people. It's a wonder how she can remain so thin and her abs still so defined. Lisa doesn't object because she knows the two of them could finish them all.

Lisa decides to tell Jisoo everything from how her and Chaeyoung became friends and how Seojun is slowly coming back into her life. As Lisa tells many stories, Jisoo notices that melancholic look in Lisa's face.

"Lisa? What's wrong? Most of the time you seem happy but there's a part of you I see that seem so sad." Jisoo asks worriedly.

"I'm happy I get to be near Chaeyoung and I get to spend a lot of time with her but that's all I'm ever going to be, a friend, and I don't want that. I imagine kissing her when she's pouting or when she's nervous for her perfomances, holding her hands when we're walking, cuddling with her. I want to be with her as someone that would love her and give her what she deserves. If she was mine I would never hurt her like Daehan does. I don't want to be just a friend Jisoo and that thought hurts me. She really loves Daehan and I can't compete with that especially because she's straight." Lisa says.

"Who says she's straight?" Jisoo says and Lisa's mouth opens so wide it might have fallen of the floor. Jisoo shoves a chicken up Lisa's mouth and continues speaking.

"Never assume unless it's specifically stated. Chaeyoung-ie may have Daehan as her boyfriend but never once did she tell us she was straight. Most of the time she even talks about how girls are so cute and that it makes her heart pound but never about boys. Maybe you have a shot at this Limario. Don't give up the fight when you haven't even tried fighting for it."

"But, but how do I even do that?" Lisa says pouting.

"Ask her out on a date? Duhh. Spend time with her and make her realize you're the one for her."

"How is that different from all the times we hang out? We spend so much time together she'd probably think it wasn't anything different."

"Then make it different, make it special. Dance for her? I don't know. Just think about it and I know you'd have the perfect date planned by yourself."

Lisa just nods, she wants to do it but she still doesn't know how. Jisoo was right, she can't give up so early. Chaeyoung was someone worth fighting for and even if she ends up heartbroken she thinks she still wouldn't regret ever loving the girl.

Why can't I be him? Why can't it be me that she loves? Maybe if we met sooner I would have had a better chance.

When it got late, Lisa returned to her place and slept on the couch thinking of how she could ask Chaeyoung out. Hours later, she got woken up by the sound of her door squeaking. She opened her eyes and when the person walked in she knew her heart had been stolen for the millionth time.

"You forgot to lock the door again Lisa." Chaeyoung says looking unhappy while Lisa smiles at her lovingly.

"I was waiting for you to come back home." Lisa says.

"I haven't gone home yet I went straight to your place when I got back."

"You're wrong, you are already home Chaeng."

Chaeyoung gives her a questioning look.

"Home is where the heart is and you're in my heart so now that you're here you're at home." Lisa says in English.

Chaeyoung thinks there's something wrong with the statement but she still blushes at Lisa's words. She remains rooted to where she was standing as Lisa walks up to her and hugs her. The girls arms were wrapped around her neck and she responds by wrapping her own arms on Lisa's waist.

"I missed you Chaeng. (I missed you much more than you think)" Lisa says and kisses the girl's forehead and the girl couldn't help but smile widely.

"I missed you too Lisa." Chaeyoung says. Without thinking she kissed Lisa's nose. They stare at each other's eyes longingly. Their eyes were speaking thousands of words towards each other and yet both girls were still oblivious. They stayed like that for a while, swaying along to the non-existent music and only the sound of their beating hearts kept them going. They stopped when Leo kept walking back and forth in between Chaeyoung's legs and she got tickled.
