"Ashton. See who's here" well as I just turned opened the gate.
I went without a word.
The room smelled like..........
Baby.

"Here. The groceries"
I put the bag in the table, so yeah, I do shop groceries. I have to help this poor-old woman, who have to take care of two extra-large kids.
"See" she showed be the bundle of cloth she's securely holding. Something unmoving. I noticed Maam's face, it looked so different, so...

Old. I can see her hair grey.
Face wrinkle.
Still the smiling face. Bright.

I forced smiled.
*********

Ella and I are sitting in the drawing room, my face poked in a mystery book, which I read and re-read and re-read, and Ella's face poked in the laptop. Searching for a job. Part time one actually.

Just then
*cries*

Cries.
The tiny baby was crying with her tiny voice.
Ella looked up from her screen and look at me with a questioning look.

I groaned.
Ugh.
I hate noise.

The cries kept on increasing and increasing and increasing.
It was not tolerable to keep hearing.
Ugh.
Ugh.

I sat up  and headed towards the room, where the baby was, along with miss.
She was struggling hard to make it stop but was unable.

Ella came," give"
She held the baby in the most motherly way I know.
She cuddled her.
Soft swings in her arms.
Cradling.
And Ella was  also mumbling something I didn't hear.

The voice?
The cries?
They went fainter.
They went fainter and fainter and fainter.

"Lemme have her with me" Ella said to miss.
"Of course. You need to"Miss smiled

An unforcefull smile got place in my lips. A geniune-happy smile. I couldn't stop it as I saw Ella carrying the tiny bundle to her room.
And all the belongings too.
