Austin had driven me to work today, whoch gave me enough time to take a small nap and not be afraid of waking u0p on the other side of the state. By the time we reached Wood Enterprise, I had been woken by the speed bump he decided to have in place of employee parking to keep from damaging expensive cars I was sure.

Austin rarely parked underneath the building, but today I was sure it was because the moment work enderd, we woul dneed to depart so I could change quickly in his apartment before we made our way to his parents house.

I was trying very hard to contain all the anxiety that was flowing through my body at the thought of being with him and his parents tonight. I never had a boyfriend in high school. Maybe in middle school, but that was simply just someone to hold hands with at lunch.

Austin's hand wraps around mine as he guides me throught the parked cars until we were in the elevator up. His lips connect to mine in a sweet peck before a goofy smiles replaces the sweet expression on his lips.

Before we reach the lobby to grab our driniks for this morning, Austin stop me from readying myself to drop his hand and leave.

"Have a great day, baby. Come to my office before lunch."

I nod my head and just as I do, the doors to the lobby open and we step into the morning buzz of employees I tried to remember the names of.

A quick stop at the small coffee bar and we were back into the elevator. Surrounded by workers kept our hands off one another, and once we met our floor, we part ways. I arranged his timetable or the day and as I prepare myself to bring it into his office, both Brent and Mahalai greet me with sunglasses on their eyes to block the blinding light.

"My head hurts, and it's all because I'm a pussy and your boyfriend is all experienced and shit," Mahalia groans before nearly falling into my desk. I let oujt a soft laugh before reaching into my bag where Austin had supplied his rather disgusting drink for the safety of my best friends.

I hand them each a canteen with the liquid in it and they eye me curiously, "Courtesy of my boyfriend. It works great, you just might want a chaser."

As if the word boyfriend had simply summoned him, Austin peaks his head out of his office and smiles at our small trio, "I need my adgenda, Miss. Bennett."

I didn't understand his issue with doing things digitally, but I wouldn't dare ask. My main priority was to work in this environment and not seem spoiled because of my relationship status with the boss. I did what I was told, for the most part at least.

"Sure thing, Mr. Wood."

I watch as Brent, having not listened to my advice, downs the entire liquid before gagging in disgust.

"What the actual fuck, Mr. Wood? Are you trying to poison us?" he asks between gags, which actually looked the Tim Allen in The Santa Clause when he drinks skim milk. All I think about is Tim Allen.

"I didn't make the recipe, Brent. I simply deliver the drink to relieve hangovers which I realie now that going out last night was not the smartest move on our part, but nevertheless, I suppose I could tell you both to call me Austin now. Friends of Laine's, make you friends of mine. Or acquaintances at least. Anyways, I'm still your boss so Brent, take care of the social media, and Mahaila, I actually don't know what you do."

I fix my posture as I look to Hails who was now slowly stepping away from the conversation, "Yeah, I don't think I even know," I announce, causing her to slowly back away more.

"Attention. I don't like attention when I'm hungover. There are like ten of you both and I need a nap."

She flees the situation with a few stumbles in the process but she disappeared behind the cubicles.

"She works with the clients one on one. Gets the information for the normal people. The ones with no money," he snorts, making me shake my head.

Austin nods before looking to his agenda. "I need you to set up a meeting with your grandma today. Tell her I'll stop at her shop by 10 so I can get a final overview before the presentation this afternoon.

I nod my head and begin to work on his orders just as Brent bids his goodbye to get bck to his own work.

The morning went by slowly and before I knew it, I was in Austin's office before my lunch break.

I was laying on his couch waiting for him to retur. I contemplated snooping around, but my conscience got to the better of me and I settled for throwing the ball he kept on his desk up in the air. My elementary days of baseball payed off as I caught every throw.

I hear the door creak open and the sound of soft laughter draws my head to the door. Austin and my Gram's enter with a comfortable conversation, there are no words to describe the sight. You would believe the two had been friends for years.

"Do you always slack, or is it because you're dating the boss?" my grams asks with a smile on her lips.

"You should hear her. All she does is gossip out there. I swear, she never gets her work done," Austin jokes, and thankfully my grandmother had a sense of humor herself. It bad it a shit tone better to know that she wasn't a stick up the ass type.

"She does it at home too. Her and Thea are always behind doors talking about whatever they n I've heard a few vulgar things, my poor old ears."

I roll my eyes and sit up properly, "Grams, you and Gramps were always making jokes that were probably too innapropriate for my baby ears."

My grandmother gasps theatrically, making me smile. She had a theatric characteristic that made her seem like the perfect actor, but you could see right through her. She was practicaly an open book and once she knew what you were doing, or participating in, her good Christian values were chucked out the window and she a friend over naything else.

"They were never really dirty. ust about drugs and strippers. I personally don't see the problem but sure, Laine."

Austin was humored byt he situation. He makes his way over to me and takes the baseball from my hand. He spins the ball in his hands before pulling my body up from the couch. His lips peck my own quickly but yet so perfectly to keep from disgusting my grandmother.

"So, Evaleen, I was hoping to discuss the plans, and I didn't want to be so formal with it, seeing as this is a personal endeavor I am seeking to work on."

My grams nods as she takes a seat at the chairs positioned across from Austin's desk as he takes his own seat.

I stand confusedly, not knowing what to do when Austin motions to the chair beside my Grams.

"This pertains to you too, Laines. I want you fully working on the financial aspect of this reject. I think it will be beneficial for finding the right solution considering your grandmother is the client. If you have any questions, talk to Laine and she'll get you through the specifics."

The meeting continues, and I was astonished by Austin's charisma and work ethic. He was passionate about what he was doing and genuinely excited for it.

I was officially, the happiest employee at Wood Enterprise.

I wanted this to be longer but I have a concert in half an hour and I shattered my phone yesterday which was trash. So now I get to pop some anxiety pills and sit in front of 300+ people so yeah. Bye.
