I felt my heart jump a little.

"D-Don't you dare grin at me like that!!"

"As you wish.", he continued to grin.

"Hazelnut? Seriously?"

"What? I love nuts." (Oh dear lord-)

"Hmmm, 's that so."

We ate our desserts in silence, both busy with our own thoughts.

'Okay, so... I was gonna get that jacket but he snatched it away... Now I'm sitting here, eating ice cream with it... At what point has my life turned into a teenage romance drama??'

As I felt a blush creep up my cheeks, I tried to hide through further indulging myself with my hazelnut ice cream.

I caught myself staring at him a few times, noticing how good that jacket actually looked on him.

"Hmmm, I guess it was better that you got that jacket after all."

"What?"

'Oh my god, did I just say that out loud!?'

"Y-Yeah, I-I mean- I guess it looks good on you. Kinda."

His frown turned into a grin yet again.

"So you're saying I'm handsome?"

"I-I only complimented the jacket, not you!!"

"Well, if you say so."

We finished our sweets yet again in silence and got up to go.
I took out my wallet, ready to pay the actually way too expensive ice cream.
But since I didn't buy anything else today - due to the incident with Senra - I could afford it.

"What are you doing?"

"Uuhhh, paying? What does it look like?"

Is he stupid by any chance?

"You're not gonna pay. I invited you, remember? As an compensation for the jacket."

"Oh- But- I can't possibly-"

"You can and now shut up. Let me pay."

"O-Okay...?"

I did as requested and let him pay for our ice cream while I left the store.
I thought about just leaving right away, but that would be impolite, even for my standards.
So I waited patiently until he was ready.

"So, wanna go on a date?"

"Excuse me?"

"Yes, excuse you. So, you're in?"

"Eh- Hold on a sec- What the fuck are you talking about?"

I was confused.
Very much so.
Till just now, he was that asshole that stole my property and now he's asking me out!?
When will this teenage romance drama end...?

"You seem confused."

"Who wouldn't be in my situation??"

"Well... I'll give you one minute to decide. I'll count down, ready? 60, 59, 58, 57, 56, 55..."

"W-Wait! Who counts this fast??? That's unfair!"

"Just decide already. 47, 46, 45, 44..."

"O-okay okay! Yes! I'll do it! Let's go on a date!"

His bored features were again replaced by that handsome grin of his.
I mean what-

"Nice. Then let's go."

He grabbed me by the wrist and started walking further into town.

What have I gotten myself into...?
