The Kasai (Fire) are not very friendly and typically only come out at night since they blend in with the darkness, their yellow eyes and slightly longer ears are a dead give away to who which clan they belong to considering they are often confused for Vkits. Their former king had made a treaty with Lux that has kept peace within their clans for the last couple of years until Kaeden left and started stirring up trouble. They reside in the volcano of Mt. Fuji and will not accept anyone who has not harnessed the power of fire. Considering it's the hardest to learn it took a while for Lux to learn it which gained her the respect of the Kasai king until Kaeden killed him and took his place.

The Kuki (Air) Warriors consists of the Kaze (Wind), Tengoku (Heaven), Sunda (Thunder) elemental tribes and have made a home above the sky temple in Beijing (yes in the clouds). They are the most social of the species making friends with fairies, werewolves, and the like. Lux and Kaeden's mother was their queen until she was approached by the All-chief for marriage. They are the only known kitsunes to actually use their tails to fly and cloud jump, but can also manipulate the weather. There have been sighting of the Kuki clan in the human world but no one can ever prove their existence. Their king Aeron the oldest of our species had many stories written about him in Greek mythology. Zeus, they called him, and the fabled trident they saw was his tail that he always held upward that would split off into 3 points. The Kuki warriors often change color to blend with the sky thus making them multi-colored wolves. They have no true color which helps them remain unseen if ever in a battle. They are the most formidable ally Lux could against her brother because they know all and see all that happens between the two realms.

The V-Kits are born of the void. They come from the underworld and look more like large black wolves than kitsunes. This clan consist of the Jikan, Seishin, Ongaku, and the Kukan bloodlines. The otherworldly powers of these creatures have earned them their rigid like appearance with eyes of Inari herself. Hellhounds are what they are referred to because of the black and red coats they have. The Kasai King is the only living magical creature that is able to use them. They refuse to serve anything but the evil which Kaeden used to his advantage, but the King of the Cresent clan is about to change that.

The Celestial Knights are a mixture of the previous 13 clans plus certain werewolves that have joined together to teach other clans about the history of our world. They often help each other master the other cultures of the fairy world and bring light to prophecies that have stayed hidden for centuries. The knights are often referred to as mystics because of their ability to predict things before they happen. Mystics are loyal to no one but themselves and only seek self-preservation of their clan. Carrying the mark above their eyebrows is truly the only way you can distinguish them from any other clan.

Shamans of the Cosmical House of medicine is a collection of werewolves from the Cresent clan. Not to be confused with the Kuki warriors these shamans will attack you on sight. They are very protective of their craft and have the ability to see into your heart. They know your intentions before you do and will not hesitate to end you. In their true form, you cannot see them and they have the power to make themselves adjust to any size and space. Only those born into the royal family can make them obey.

Crescent Clan(Luna) is the werewolf clan that is loyal to Lux. With the king having had died twice it made him one of the few to control the V-kits, because of the werewolves bad nature it earned them a reputation within the clans, but that changed when Lux saved Nissin's life. Considering he is the King's only son and next in line for the throne it made him appreciate her all the more.
· The largest clan that houses the most diverse set of Kitsunes and is also where the All Chief lives is located on the outskirts of Seoul, and is called The Cosmos. Even though the Cosmos is actually a place in their realm the kitsunes of other kingdoms will often refer to it as the realm as a whole due to growing population of the foxes.
· Each clan has their own king/ queen that rules over them, but the All- Chief born of Royal blood commands them all.
· There are 2 realms, the Persona realm (human), and the Shadow Realm(fairy) even though they exist on the same plane, the human world is much more dense which allows the kitsunes and other magical creatures to roam freely without being seen, unless they want to be. Only a Nine- tailed kitsune, who possesses the power of the Void can influence the air space around them, thus walking amongst the humans.
· The prophecy that they refer to in the story is called The Fabled Fate of the Cosmos, it states that Kaeden will one day turn to the Descent(darkness) and lead his people into a world of chaos and that Lux the true ruler and the last nine-tailed fox in existence would bring the peace by conjoining their worlds with that of the humans with the help of 7 unlikely allies.
· Kitsunes age at a much slower rate than human due. While she is in fact 600 years old in her world, in the human world she would only be 24.
· When a kitsune dies they turn to stone, considering they are part of the fairy world they die abnormally and will speak in Fae when speaking to other fairy creatures.
· Werewolves are much bigger in size than the kitsunes even though they harness no powers. They are great and loyal allies to whom ever comes to their aid, but are often met with discrimination due to their violent blood lust and savage nature. Werewolves are often referred to as cursed creatures because of the spell that made them (A witch cursed a V-Kit, because it tricked her). Kitsunes on the other hand were born from the earth and have existed since the beginning of time.
