***Chapter 12***

DAHAN-DAHAN AKONG naglakad patungo sa kuwarto ni Roxanne. Hinawakan ko ang door knob at binuksan iyon. It wasn't locked.

Walang ingay na lumapit ako sa kama nito at pinagmasdan ang maamo nitong mukha habang mahimbing na natutulog.

I leaned in gave her a peck on her lips.

Ipinatong ko ang bridal boquet na hawak ko sa tabi nito. It was a boquet that I got from Edsel's wife. She accidentally throw it to me and I decided to keep it.

Pinatapos ko muna ang party sa reception ng pinsan ko bago tinungo ang bahay ni Roxanne.

"Promise me that you'll be okay even without me, Roxie. I respect your decision. I will wait for you to come for me. And I hope that you can recognize me when that time comes." Marahan kong hinaplos ang pisngi nito.

Bumaba ang mga kamay ko sa kamay nito at hinaplos ang suot nitong bracelet. I can't help but to smile everytime I see her wearing this bracelet. Hindi ko alam kung paano itong napunta sa kanya noong dinala ko ito sa hospital. Tandang-tanda ko ang bracelet na suot na ito dahil regalo iyon ng mommy ko sa akin.

"You were the first woman who made my heart beats fast and you were the one who broke it, too. But I understand. I'll wait for you. And by that time, I won't let you go."

I kissed her on her forehead for the last time before I got out from her room.

Nang makalabas sa kuwarto ay hindi na ako nagulat nang makita si Freih na nakasandal sa pader malapit sa kuwarto. Naka-krus ang mga braso nito sa dibdib nito.

"Bukas na ang flight niya papuntang US." Freih said.

Tumango ako.

Roxanne will stay to US for her treatment. It was her final decision. Gustuhin ko mang pigilan ito ay hindi ko magawa. Nirerespeto ko kung anuman ang desisyon nito.

"Please take care of her." Mahinang usal ko.

She smiled at me.

"Thank you for being a good man to our Miss Rox." She said.

"She's a good person."

Tumango ito at mas lumapad ang ngiti.

"Napakabait nga niya. At hindi siya mahirap mahalin, hindi ba?" She teasingly asked.

I just shooked my head and smiled at her.

"How was she when she met her bestfriend?" I asked.

"You mean, her bestfriend Christine? It was good. She was happy that she finally revealed herself to her bestfriend."

"That's good." Namulsa ako.

"Ahm, can I ask?"

I looked straight into her eyes.

"Go on."

"Xander lang ba talaga ang pangalan mo? I mean, how about your surname?"

Alanganin ko itong nginitian.

"I'm sorry but I can't reveal my real identity." I apologized.

Napakamot ito sa ulo nito.

"Okay. I understand." Anito at inilahad ang palad nito sa akin.

"It's nice to meet you, Xander. Salamat at isa ka sa mga dahilan kung bakit naging masaya si Miss Rox. And hope you two will meet again and continue what you have started. Thank you because I saw how you care for Miss Rox."
