In the beginning
there was only darkness,
a black curtain draped across the universe.
Then came the first star,
the first light.
At first,
the star was but a speck of dust
against the silky backdrop of nothing.
That was soon to change.
Hundreds-
Thousands-
Millions of stars filled the emptiness,
illuminating the night sky with a brightness
none had ever seen before.
The stars brought life;
they brought love.
They brought a feeling
that was new
and strange
and exhilarating,
setting fire to the hearts of many,
and encouraging the shining hearts
to create a light of their own.
