To a lonely soul
A friend is a blessing
But
It can also be a curse
We crave attention
Loving that we actually mean something
That we are of worth
Yet
One simple choice
One seemingly harmless decision
One thoughtless act
Can send us back
Back to the pain
Back to the loneliness
Back to the empty darkness
