Somi groaned, "Omg girls can we stop talking about her already?? So what if she's from a rich family? We're rich too!"
Doyeon laughed, "I know right!! Haha anyways, I have some tea for you guys~"
"Oooh what is it?" ChungHa giggled.
"Did you know Sohye started dating Na Jaemin?!"
They all gasped, "Omg no way!! How come she didn't tell us?! I knew something was fishy when he kept walking her home! I heard they almost kissed!"
"Omg no way! Anyways, what about you Doyeon? I heard you've been hanging out with Lucas these days~"
Doyeon blushed and covered her face in embarrassment, "No guys we're just friends! Besides, I'm pretty sure he likes Yuqi.." she whispered.
Somi gasped, "Omg girls do you wanna see my new Chanel purse? Jennie eonnie gave it to me as a birthday present~" she chirped and showed off her baby pink purse.
I sighed and slowly walked away from the group. I couldn't begin to explain how left out I felt.
I've never had any close female friends before so I was excited to make some today. But after just a minute of hanging out with these girls, I'm starting to feel sick.
I walked towards the drinks table and poured myself some juice. I looked back at Somi's friends and saw them gossiping amongst each other. They didn't even notice I was gone.
Oh well, if I can't make friends, I still have food XD
As I was about to gobble down my drink, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked towards my side to see one of Somi's friends standing beside me.
She was quite short, but harbored a friendly and easygoing vibe. Her short hairdo and oversized outfit made her look extremely cute.

I believe her name was Yoojung. She's the only one who didn't make any snarky remarks about me. In fact, she didn't say a word.
"Hey...are you alright?" she carefully asked.
I looked at her in surprise, "Uh yeah..I'm fine."
That's odd...I wasn't expecting her to be so nice. Although I had a feeling she was different from the other girls. I could see genuine concern in her eyes.
She placed a comforting hand on my shoulder, "Listen, don't mind anything they say alright? The girls don't have anything personal against you. They're just intimidated by your power and status...and the fact that such a large chaebol like the Kang family chose you. I don't know if you've been to a lot of social gatherings...but this type of behaviour is very common amongst us elites. We use our power and status to intimidate each other, and our actions are driven by jealousy. Just give it some time...I'm sure they'll accept you eventually. You seem like a very kind person so I don't see them holding a grudge against you for very long," she smiled.
I blinked in surprise once again. Wow...not only is she compassionate but also incredibly smart as well.
After taking a moment to absorb everything she said, I smiled in appreciation, "Thanks Yoojung, I really needed that. You seem super nice yourself~ Maybe we could be friends?"
Her eyes lit up, "Of course! Here, let me give you my phone number so we can stay in touch," she took out her phone and we exchanged contacts.
I smiled in satisfaction. Maybe this party wasn't so bad after all.
And I officially made my first female friend!
