Chapter 25 ♔

I nodded and gave them a friendly smile. They didn't smile back. I could see their judgemental facial expressions as their eyes looked me up and down. They looked disgusted, just like Somi did when she first saw me.

The first thing I noticed about them was their attire. All of them wore really fancy and expensive-looking designer brands. Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, you name it.

I looked down at my simple outfit from H&M and felt extremely insecure. I probably should've made more effort to dress up huh? 

But how was I supposed to know that Daniel's friends would literally be fashion models? I thought this was just gonna be a simple reunion of old friends..

My thoughts were interrupted by Daniel's voice, "Huh? Where's Seungri hyung? Wasn't he supposed to be here too?" 

The room suddenly fell silent. There was an awkward tension in the air right after the mention of Seungri's name...I don't know him personally but I heard he was a good friend of Daniel's.

"Uhm....about that.. Daniel, can I talk to you for a sec? In private," Seongwoo said, causing Daniel to raise an eyebrow in suspicion. 

"Uhh, okay?" he nodded and followed Seongwoo out of the living room. Before he left, he turned towards me, "I'll be right back, okay jagi? Why don't you hang out with Somi and her friends while I'm gone. You can get to know them better," he suggested.

I gulped and looked at the girls. Their eyes were twinkling as they looked at Daniel with an innocent expression, "Don't worry oppa, we'll keep her company! You take your time okay?" Doyeon winked.

Daniel nodded and left the room. The Wanna One members followed right behind him and closed the door, causing the girls and I to be the only ones in the room.

What the hell, didn't he say he wanted to talk to Daniel privately?  I guess they have a different definition of private, don't they?

Suddenly, I felt an arm wrap around my shoulder. I looked up to see Doyeon smirking at me, "So you're Daniel's fiancé huh? He sure has interesting taste~" she sneered.

Chungha giggled, "I was just thinking that! Either she got lucky, or Daniel's completely blind."

"Omg I know right! To be honest, I expected Daniel to hook up with Kelly or something~" Kyulkyung mused.

Kelly? Who's Kelly?

"I can't believe he chose a local Korean girl instead! This must be his family's doing," she continued.

I scoffed and gently shoved Doyeon's arm off me, "Yes we had an arranged marriage. But we both consented to it, and are very happy with each other," I said a matter-of-factly. 

I knew it. They were just waiting for an opportunity for Daniel to leave so they can show me their true colours. But I wasn't gonna let that happen.

There's no way I was gonna let myself be talked down upon by Somi and her b*tchy friends. I have to stand up for myself and be strong. At least until Daniel gets here.

"An arranged marriage huh? What family are you from then? You must be important if such a rich chaebol like the Kang family chose you," Chungha said.

"I'm from the Yoo family. My parents are the CEO of the LG corporation in Korea," I said confidently.

Their eyes widened and they gasped, "LG?!! Ahh no wonder they chose you!! That's one of the largest chaebols in Korea. You must be filthy rich, even without Daniel's family!" they exclaimed.

I mentally laughed. Wow, they're just as materialistic as they look. 

Just mention I'm from a rich family, and boom, they suddenly change their whole attitude like they didn't just trash talk me a few seconds ago lol.
