S E R E N D I P I T Y

My legs halfway bare,

I dip into the freezing lake,

Surrounded by an arc of mountains,

Snow-filled mountains.

No one sees,

I’m all alone,
.
.
.

.

I walk in a deeper depth,

The cold water gliding through
my sheer clothing.

It’s been a long time,

Where has everyone been?

I can hardly fathom
my own existence,

.
.
.

How old must I be now?

Years have passed for sure,

Each year the count gets lower,

Have they lost into some oblivion?

Because I can’t find a single soul,

Just creatures but no humans.

Crawling, flying, hooting,
selling their existence.

.
.
.

I long for one,

Of one of my own,

Of a solicit company,

A company which gives warmth,

A warmth none of heat,

But of comfort and peace.
.

.
.

I often hear the twigs crunching,

Yet loose hope each time,

As I see it’s just another wild creature.

I can’t say I hate them,

They’ve been a far
loyal companion of mine.
