W I L D   B E A S T

A silent night,

Crickets chirping around,

Wind rustling the leaves,

Grass blades tickling my feet,

As I walk alone,

To see a sight between
two shadowed trees.

The moon hanging
in its palatial grand,

With birds flitting across
like darkened shadows.

Trudging forward,

The soft breeze rushing
through my face,

Making my hair fly eastwards.

I try to find the source of my silence,

The source of my peace….

This inviting scent of nature,

Coerce a breath in,

Sagging my shoulders,

Putting me at ease,

Like as if been told to sit,

I settle on the glossy grass field,

Gently caressing the dew drop greens.

The wind brushes once again,

This time, carrying the
sound of rushing stream.

At once my legs set to walk towards,

Catching the glistening
moonlight water,

I hastened to reach quickly,

Yet skidding to a halt,
at seeing a truth raw.

A mighty wild beast was what I saw.

Frozen, paralyzed with fear
of since heard terrible incidents,

But not of the mighty creature
standing erect and proud,

It was too late to run though,

I watched as it raised
it’s tasselled head,
