Chapter 7

Amy's POV

My sides hurt from laughing so much. Luke was such a goofball! I had probably been in there with him for about 15 minutes, and I felt better now. "I should go talk to Jack or something." I mused. "NOW, you want to talk to him." Luke smirked, winking at me. I felt my cheeks get hot. "Aw, shut up Luke! Thanks for letting me hang with you, I feel a lot better." "No biggie, you can come talk to me whenever." He said, brushing off my thanks. "Well... I guess I'll go talk to Jack now." I said, getting up off the bed. "You lovebirds stay safe!" Luke called after me. I ran back to the bed, picked up the biggest pillow, and clobbered him with it. "Bye to you too, Amy!" He said. I laughed "Bye, you big dork." I walked back across the hall to the room next to mine, which I knew was Jack's. I took a deep breath, raised my hand, and knocked. There was a couple seconds, and then I heard Jack's voice call out "come in!" I carefully opened the door, and saw Jack lying face down in a mass of pillows. "What's the matter?" I asked him, standing next to his bed. He rolled over to look at me. His eyes were a little red and he said "nothing, it's all good." "Um, okay." I said not believing him, but also not wanting to press the subject. I stood over his bed awkwardly for a little while. Why were things so much more tense with him than Luke? "Wanna sit down?" He said suddenly, jarring me from my thoughts. "Hm? Oh, yeah, thanks." I said. He sat up and scooted over to the left, patting the spot to his right. I sat down beside him. It was a relatively large bed, but we sat close together, and I was just fine with that. "So," he began. "I was thinking, maybe you'd let me take you somewhere later today?" "Of course, I'd love that!" I exclaimed. He grinned at me. Now this was the Jack I had hung out with a week ago. This was the Jack that had stolen my heart
